White House removes Russian state media reporter from Oval Office, official says | Reuters
Kind of disturbing that someone with Russian state media was able to slip into the Oval Office without the White House noticing.

Foxhopper, this is the transcript of the X post I shared.
NEW: The White House is having press staffers eat President Zelensky's lunch after he was kicked out of the Oval Office, according to Fox News.
"Zelensky, we're told, was begging to stay..."
"The lunch that they were supposed to have is sitting right outside the hallway, and the press staffers are going to be eating that lunch."
There is video of him getting into a vehicle and being driving away.

The best commentary on yesterday's fiasco was from Brit Hume. He said that Trump and Zelensky had a basic disagreement as to which country was helping the other. Trump says we gave enormous amounts of weapons and money to Ukraine in order to save them from a quick defeat by the invading Russians. Zelensky believes that the whole Western world has been the beneficiary of Ukraine's heroism and bloodletting. Zelensky probably has not met resistance to his line of thought before.

I think Zelenski's position is defensible given how the last two D administrations saw the existing world order. Trump believes that world order weakens the US and gives too much power to many of the post WWII organizations and states that arose in the aftermath, e.g., the UN, et al. The fall of the Soviet Union transformed Eastern Europe, weakened Russia, created, among other Soviet satellite states, Ukraine and changed the world of the great powers being the major players in shaping global outcomes.
Trump wants to restore that period that featured the great powers and therefore sees Ukraine as a less useful side show that Trump no longer wants to support elevating Russia to its rightful great world power status. Given Trump's world view and that of how he views the diminution of American power his treatment of Zelenski is understandable and defensible.
How this seeming rearrangement of major power players on the global stage that Trump is seeking plays out is not foreseeable. I think thats the risk here. Where heretofore there has been been thoughtful consideration of grand strategy in America, Trump's approach to defining America's place on the global stage and its relationship with other great powers seems chaotic.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
