In a semi-related shameless name drop, Franklin Graham’s son, Eddie, was my team leader in the Army for bit.

Liney,
I live in the Deep South. I know evangelical and pentecostal churches very well. That, however, was a contrived photo op with a largely areligious president orchestrated by the new faith tsar.
I still hope it’s AI. It’s bad."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Which Psalm do you think was going through Trump's mind during that picture?
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Evil art with me; thy EO and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Adolf for ever.
Shut the fuck up Donny!

I agree that Mr. Trump seems to lack a true devotion to the Christian faith, as did Mr. Biden to his Catholic faith.
But a prayer can't hurt.
And I wouldn't trust Paula White any further than I could throw her. I'm not sure where she gets many of her beliefs from.I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

Lots of opinion pieces this weekend on the war in Ukraine and the cease fire between waring parties in the ME.
In Ukraine there's grumbling that Putin and Trump are excluding Zelenski from negotiations to end the war there. It's not just coming from inside Ukraine and Zelenski. Several international think tanks offer criticism of any plans to reach a peace deal with Putin without Zelenski will end up appeasing Putin. It is generally believed from my reading is that Putin doesn't want a quick end to the war. With military objectives on the ground being achieved by the RA, even with the huge cost in lives and material, and with the 0A on it's heels, he wants to slow-walk any talks of negotiations. IOW, Putin doesn't want to negotiate - "what's mine is mine and what's yours is negotiable." Of course, if Trump were to unilaterally end US military aid, it is likely that Zelenski's government would collapse. It's been reported that European allies are prepared for this eventuality and will make up whatever US aid is stopped. IDK. I don't think we are going to see any peace negotiations in the foreseeable future despite Trump's claims that he'll end the war in Ukraine.
Just read a lengthy article that featured an interview with Palestinian scholars on the future of the Palestinian people. Several key points emerged, the last the most important. (1) The Palestinians need a place to call home (land) and Israel, along with the support it receives from the US, are standing in the way of that goal. (2) No matter what the terms of any future agreement are, Hamas will remain in the picture, if not militarily, then culturally and politically. (3) Forget about the PA, it is a "dinosaur" run by people in their 70s and still attached to the Oslo Accords. The PLO is similarly positioned - there needs to be new governing organizations built by the many Palestinian technocrats within the diaspora in their 30s. (4) What I got from reading the comments of "experts" is that the side by side existence of Israel and a Palestinian state whose people fundamentally represent cultural "resistance" isn't possible. (5) Finally, I found that these so called experts on the Palestinian condition had no common jumping off point nor did there emerge some kind of consensus on how to address the decades long issues of the Palestinians.
The situation between the state of Israel and it's government and whatever you want to call Palestinians who claim to represent the Palestinian people will continue to be a giant cluster fuck contributing to the instability in the ME.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
