    • Remember when progressive Democrats used to denounce big corporations as the source of all social ills?

Now, progressive Democrats sit in Congress and demand that political appointees pledge not to sue big corporations!

And why do those progressive Democrats demand that political appointees not sue big corpirations?

Answer: Because progressive Democrats accept lots of money from big corporations—progressive Democrats are shills and protectors of the very corporations they denounce and claim to regulate.

If you want to understand why a big, anticonstitutional regulatory-subsidy state is bad, explore the question: Why do big corporations give so much money to politicians and political campaigns?

The money those corporations spend on political influence could be invested in research and development of new products, expanding production capacity, hiring additional sales staff, better marketing, etc.

Why do big businesses choose to spend so much influencing elected politicians and unelected bureaucrats? What are corporations buying when they give political donations to the old crony Senators you see on TV? The answer explains much that is wrong with our progressive United States and the progressive administrative state we now have.

      • Hadn't thought of it this way but it was pointed out that if Trump does, in fact, grant an exemption to Canadian oil, then that's an admission that tariffs are taxes on US consumers and cause prices to go up.

I assume this drivel that you keep stealing without attribution is referring to RFK Jr. making money by suing corporation to remove additives he alleges are dangerous?

          • RFK, Patel, and Gabbard are all awful nominees. But if there's one that a few more Republican Senators might buck Trump it's probably Gabbard. That's the lowest risk option. It's not that important a position really and Trump's not going to be furious like if they vote NO on Kash.

Nope. RFK has a couple of solid stances I agree with and about 80 things he is a whackjob on...so no. He would not have been my pick. But to complain about the quality or lack thereof RE: Trump's nominations when looking at the kaleidoscope of nutcases in the Biden Administration is simply laughable.

Conservatives should vote against RFK. Yesterday at the hearing, he committed to hire the first Native American to be his top aid. I've listened to hours of his testimony and he is evasive about vaccines. He wants power too much. There has to be someone who will not be controlled by Big Pharma who can set the HHS right.

If Trump wants a former democrat in his cabinet maybe he could nominate someone like Kyrsten Sinema to run HHS, once RFJ Jr. either withdraws or is rejected by the Senate.

                          • I'm 100% against Gabbard. She's slimy as fuck, has no true ideology, beliefs, positions, or core values. She exists solely to navigate the halls of power in DC and cultivate a persona for the cameras.

As for RFK, I'm not a fan and hope he doesn't get confirmed but I don't view him as much of a threat. Tulsi as DNI could cause actual harm.

He knows she needs a job and will do whatever he asks her to do. The opportunism and lack of a consistent ideology makes it easier for Trump to work with you.
