        • Sorry, shit, read an extra zero into it. 10,000 acres not 100k. Still blew up a lot in 12 hours.

Yeah sorry, read it wrong. 10k. Rose Bowl seems alright at the moment, it's mainly the city just north of Pasadena (Altadena) that's taking the big hit

                • Lot's of issues with hydrants not working. They should figure out a way to have more water.

                  • Power transmission lines out there need to be buried. They are often the culprits of starting these fires and when areas lose power water pumps become useless. A lot of the hydrants have no water pressure because it was a very dry summer.

                    • When gusts are blowing 80-100 mph and fires are jumping as far as a mile at a time that's almost impossible to contain.

                        • You know, the Great Lakes region has abundant water, no wild fires of note, no hurricanes, no other natural disasters of real consequence and you only have to put up with what seems like 45 straight months of morbidly gray winter.

So, you know, you want sunshine, well good luck periodically kayaking down your driveway or enjoying the gentle kiss of the wildfire.

                            • Every once in a while I'll see a tweet where someone wonders why so few people live on the California coast between San Francisco and LA and considers this "wasted space". It's because the mountains rise up almost immediately from the ocean and like I said previously they are more dirt than rock. Which is a very unstable place to be when there's a quake. There's only a few pockets of relatively flat land on that whole 500 mile coast. Man can't always conquer geography.
