  • The UCC is one of the most liberal church organizations in the world. Even Unitarians look at them and say, "Yeesh, those guys are crazy".

It was fun and somewhat delicious irony to watch Queen Kamala being forced to do her job, and certify that Trump won the election. As she was standing there, she already appeared to be about 3 sheets to the wind.

We are very fortunate that this person was not elected president.

        • Particularly, during the first months of Covid in 2020, people had no idea how bad the pandemic would be. I remember going to Walmart, having my groceries delivered to my car trunk, and taking them home and wiping them with bleach. We didn't know.
I'll take you one step further. We did the same thing. But when the person came to my window to verify my name, I barely cracked the window, with my mask on, to confirm my name with her. I remember wondering if the Covid virus could come thru my back seat from the trunk. We wiped our groceries with a bleach/water disinfectant that I read about on the internet. (one cap full of bleach to 1 gallon of water) We wiped everything and immediately took the plastic bags to the outside garbage can.

I also quit my part time job to avoid contact with people.

Trump could have taken advantage for his personal gain, but did not. The Democratic Party cannot make the same claim.

Then you should take your own advice and not throw them around. Nationalism is a different thing than antisemitism. Trump and the Rep party are far less antisemitic than the Dem party.

The Reps are against the New World Order as proclaimed by Klaus Schwab. They are against unlimited illegal immigration from the Global South.

              • Trump's too stupid, childlike, and cowardly to be a true authoritarian but absolutely, those are the type of people he admires.

He's a showman. Being viewed as "strong" is more important than actually being strong.

                • Trump's also the premier celebrity jock-sniffer in the country. Every once in a while someone claims Trump's a simple man would rather hang out at some hole-in-the-wall Iowa diner than at the Oscars and I can't stop laughing. He yearns for affirmation from the "elites". He wants to get invited to their parties and be considered a peer. Look at how easily and quickly he accepts Musk and Bezos as "friends" so long as they say nice things about him.

                    • Geezer, you should have done this before you challenged me to find examples of Trump's ACTIONS indicating he "sees authoritarianism as a better form of government..."?: Google your challenge. When I did that, I was struck by the links to various sources of opinions on DJT's potential to act and speak as an authoritarian.

I'm not going to let you pigeon hole a response from me limiting examples I might provide to only ACTION that he took during his first term as POTUS. In the current context and WRT my post, I'm going by what he has said publicly about how he has said he will carry out his duties and responsibilities as POTUS (See the recent admonitions from the bench that Judge Juan M. Merchan provided denying the requested delay in sentencing he sought). I believe there are indications that he will act to try and weaken institutional obstacles and restraints on established constitutional powers of the Executive. The spoken word can and often does imply intent to act. How far he goes on the strongman spectrum of the world's current heads of state that are considered authoritarian is TBD.

Because he has not yet become POTUS, we don't know that he will ACT as an authoritarian during his presidency. But, there are signs that he will. The link below will take you to opinion pieces you can read if you're interested in understanding the parallels I wrote about in my post between Adolf Hitler's close advisors and Trump's close advisors as it pertains to how DJT might act during his second term as POTUS.

And to reiterate, I'm not among the group of people who want to compare Donald Trump to Adolph Hitler or allege he's a Nazi. My post was not about drawing that kind of conclusion but rather it was about his potential to act as a strongman or authoritarian in the mold of other heads of state from Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Türkiye to Viktor Orbán in Hungary. Both have created blueprints for how to suffocate democratic pluralism and entrench autocracy. While he might admire Putin and Kim Jong Un's style and has praised both of them, he's clearly not going to govern like either Putin or Kim.

In this search, I added examples of Trump's actions as an authoritarian. More evidence of that:

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                      • One way he's going to attempt to expand the power of the Presidency is by claiming he doesn't have to spend money that Congress appropriates.

Oh, there's no doubt he's an insecure dick. The Chairman is also a massively insecure dick. It was the worst election in this history of free elections until it became the worstest election in this history of free elections.

The problem is that you compare him, indirectly, to Hitler. Or Musk to Goebbels. And when you use that comparison -- and you most certainly did -- then it leads to nonsense. You 100% don't think DJT is Hitler or Musk is Goebbels -- but please -- the comparison was made.
