Vice President Kamala Harris: In Her Own Words
Instead of unequivocally condemning the violence and civil unrest, then-Senator Kamala Harris doubled down on the anti-police rhetoric that fueled much of the ongoing violence across the Nation, tacitly justifying the actions of the rioters.- Harris encouraged Americans by posting a tweet to give money to help bail out the looters, rioters, and violent protesters that caused untold damage in Minneapolis and elsewhere during the unrest of 2020. “If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.”
- Harris referenced the BLM Riots as a “movement,” noting that “They (protestors) are not going to stop, this is a movement.”
- During a radio interview in June of 2020, Harris praised the “defund the police” movement stating, “The idea that putting more cops on the street makes us safer, is wrong.”
- Harris doubled down on this misguided approach to public safety when she said, “It is old, tired, wrong, status quo thinking to think you get more safety by putting more police officers on the street.”
- In her first solo speech in 2020 as Democrat vice presidential nominee, Harris vowed to stand with the protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, stating, “People are rightfully angry and exhausted...it’s no wonder people are taking to the streets. And I support them.” She made this statement while businesses within the city of Kenosha burned to the ground.

Particularly, during the first months of Covid in 2020, people had no idea how bad the pandemic would be. I remember going to Walmart, having my groceries delivered to my car trunk, and taking them home and wiping them with bleach. We didn't know. I believe Trump could have declaired martial law and gotten away with it at the time. Instead of that, he worked through the process, particularly with Dem governors. You remember the 40,000 ventelators that Cuomo needed? Trump paid to have the Javits center turned into a hospital, and he sent a medical ship to NYC.
An authoritarian would have used the pandemic to acquire power. Trump did the opposite. Do you have any example of Trump's ACTIONS indicating he "sees authoritarianism as a better form of government..."?
