Carter also became anti-Israel as time went on. He called Israel an apartheid state comparing them with South Africa before Mandela. Carter also abandoned his belief that abortion was wrong, and became pro-choice. The child doesn't get a choice, but oh well ...
Carter never repudiated the radical factions of the Democrat party.
Carter also left his life long church in Plains when the congregation voted to stay with Biblical truths that are clearly against homosexuals serving as pastors, female pastors, and pro-abortion. He changed his membership to another Baptist church in a nearby community which was more liberal.
While his work with Habitat for Humanity was commendable, his continuing pandering to the extreme left was important to him. Even though he had no political future after he was defeated by Reagan.
