Since acquiring power in 2023 the Republicans have not successfully passed a single appropriations bill. They've only been able to do CRs that continue the 2022 budget written by Nancy Pelosi's team. This CR is supposed to get the govt to next March where they claim they will finally pass their own budget. But I highly doubt they will. It's an unmanageable caucus with too many nihilistic freaks more interested in social media clicks than governing.

Simple solution: Pass a bill that the federal workers who are considered unessential during a government shutdown do not get paid. The Dems would never allow this and it would cut Schumer off at the knees. Just shut the damm thing down and see if any working person in the US even notices.

The Dem clientele are mainly welfare recipients: actual welfare recipients, public sector unionists, college professors, and illegal immigrants. The country should be concerned that this combination of nere-do-wells amounts to almost 50% of the population.
