If it’s true the King of Debt wants to eliminate the debt ceiling altogether, Dems might actually go along with that. Many, many Republicans will hate it. Lmao at any dumb schmuck who actually thought Trump would balance the budget.

There was some talk about how tariffs are going to raise so much revenue for the govt that the budget will be balanced.

He needs the debt ceiling raised or eliminated by next year in order to extend the tax cuts from 2017. Or create new tax cuts.

People like Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, Paul Gosar, Chip Roy, and many others are going to be deeply unhappy with Trump calling for the elimination of the debt ceiling.

Mostly clean CR with some disaster relief and farm aid PLUS a total elimination of the debt ceiling is something a lot of Dems could (and should) vote for. It would eliminate one of the tools the Disruptor Caucus has.

Somewhat notably the court didn't dismiss the indictment. In theory the case could proceed. But I don't remember who is in charge of appointing a new prosecutor and if that person is required to do so.
