Relating to Biden's green lighting the Ukrainian's use of US supplied ATACMs inside Russian territory.
On the subject of Russian "Red Lines:" Kremlin officials have repeatedly threatened responses, of what nature has not been revealed, directed against the US/NATO member countries that transfer to Ukraine any number of arms. The transferring from the US or NATO countries to Ukraine of armaments has produced Russian threats. Most notably, transfer of US arms to Ukraine to include M1 Abrams tanks, HIMARs, F16s, the training of F16 pilots, the introduction of US logistics personnel to train and assist Ukrainians responsible for maintenance of the F16s, air defense systems and now ATACMs have all resulted in threats of a response from Russia with none of them acted on militarily. Just words about what will happen if these threats do not result in reconsideration of said transfer by the western allies.
The latest "tangible" response to the green-lighting of ATACMs has been an announcement by various Russian officials that Putin has signed documents that change his orders for the use of nuclear weapons. It reads that any non-nuclear state that is provided weapons by a nuclear state becomes a potential target for a nuclear response from Russia as if they were, themselves, a nuclear state. More threats and that's about it. The complexity of the chain of events that leads up to the launching of a nuclear weapon, such chain of events hammered out during the hay-day of nuclear disarmament talks in the 80s, is incredibly complex. The net effect is that this threat posed by Russia is just more hot air nuclear saber rattling from Putin.
Both the US and most EU countries have responded to Putin's threats by delaying or spreading out the actual transfer of weapons to the battlefield. The slow responses have resulted in Russian advances and the occupation of more Ukrainian territory along with the loss of UA military equipment, soldiers and civilian lives. The current circumstances involve a US led response to the introduction of NK troops to the defense of the Kursk Oblast following the seizure of a portion of it by Ukraine in August. In diplomatic parlance, the use of ATACMs is not an "escalation" at all. US diplomats are characterizing it as a legal response to Russian solicitation and actual use on the battlefield of NK troops. ATACMs is capable of striking targets inside Russia that they are using as a sanctuary to store arms, train soldiers and transfer both to the front lines. Attacking these kinds of targets will drive Russia to move men, supplies and equipment further eastward and back into Russia to preserve them. That lengthens the logistics chain and weakens Russian forces at the front confronting Ukrainian defensive positions. Striking these targets in Russia's near and far rear are critical to the defense of Ukraine and the ultimate goal of forcing Russian concessions at the negotiating table. That is something Putin has steadfastly refused to grant. His goal was from the onset of his military operation and is now the complete capitulation of Ukraine. Start recognizing that reality and bring the fight to Putin.Last edited by Jeff Buchanan; November 19, 2024, 01:39 PM.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. Very well thought out post by Jeff.
While I don’t agree with what’s going on there, I just pray that nuclear weapons aren’t actually used. We know who to blame if it actually happens. Perhaps I’m corrupted and influenced on the idea by the fantastic film ‘Oppenheimer’.
The Cheney and establishment people continue to just poke the bear of a mad person/ country. Meanwhile, billions of government spending continues to go there. Trillions in total on these overseas conflicts. All of this is just lovely.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

The difference between Gaetz and Kavanaugh/Thomas is that plenty of Republicans think the guy is a total slimeball. And they used to talk about what a creep he is openly. Go rewatch Markwayne Mullins' interview with CNN from like a year ago. I guess he must just be a lyin' Deep Stater, huh?
Why was Gaetz's "adopted son" Nestor Galban sending payments to these girls? (I assume they can back that up)
Two women told House ethics panel Gaetz sent Venmo payments "for sex" and asked about "party favors," their attorney says - CBS News
