            • Israeli intelligence and law enforcement personnel are reporting that a botched terrorist attack that killed the explosives wearing idiot outside and in an open area in Tel Aviv has links to the West Bank, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad (who claimed responsibility) and Iran. One person was injured by the blast. This is the first terrorist bombing in Tel Aviv since 2016.

Meanwhile, US SOS Blinken is reporting in a news conference held hours ago that Netanyahu has accepted this "bridging proposal" that if you can figure out what it means from public disclosures of the details of it, you're probably a whole lot smarter than any members of the Israeli or Hamas governments. Maybe the negotiators at the table, none of whom are Israeli or Hamas officials (???) understand what they put out there hoping the two parties will agree to it. Hamas has said leading up to Blinken's announcement that the "bridging proposal" aligns too closely to Israeli demands, presaging their likely rejection of it.

Probably nothing to see here, move along.

Ukraine has grabbed a chunk of Russian territory in Kursk Oblast. There are reports that Ukraine has blown up three bridges that the Russians use to get reinforcements to the new front to stop the Ukrainian invasion and to resupply its forces in Donetsk Oblast. Russia has evacuated 130,000 civilians to safe areas. Various sources have described the all, at this point, civil response in coordination with the FSB (boarder security police) as chaotic and disorganized. Putin has not commented on the incursion and the Kremlin's line is this is no big deal.

There are now three fronts where hot contact is occurring: The newly opened Northern Front (Kursk), the Eastern Front (Donetsk) and the Southern Front (Zaphorisia - Kherson, Crimea). Analysts disagree on whether the choice of the UA to invade Russia was a good or bad one. The UA is already stretched to it's man-power limits and losing ground at the Eastern Front with the RA about to grab a key city that is an important hub for UA logistics. OTH, this looks very bad for Putin who contends with a Russian populace who has been supportive of his war in Ukraine bolstered by tight Kremlin control of the information space. This is different. There is no hiding the UA advances into Russia. Ukraine has also managed to force the Russian Black Fleet out of it's ports in Crimea opening important export channels that have revived grain imports from Ukraine to pre-invasion levels. Good for the Ukrainian economy.

Putin still holds the high card though with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of soldiers and war fighting kit. Putin can't be happy with the unexpected rise of VP Harris in the presidential election. Putin was definitely working to hold out until Trump was elected. That's not looking like a sure thing anymore after Biden's withdrawal. By invading and holding territory within the Kursk Oblast, Zelenski hopes to establish a "buffer" in front of Kiev and Kharkiv to stop Russian ground air and missile attacks launched from the Kursk Oblast. He also has stated a goal of drawing the RA from the Eastern Front to slow its advance there - so far there's no evidence of that helping slow down the RA. Official UA announcements tout the ease and speed by which the UA took Russian territory compared to the exceedingly slow advances of the RA in Eastern Ukraine. That's an accurate assessment. remains to be seen if this operation into the Kursk Oblast is both a tactical and strategic success. Lots of questions and argument among analysts about this.

                  • I think this is a fair representation of the current status of this so called "Bridging proposal" offered to Hamas and Israel. Hamas isn't going to accept it arguing that it has new demands or settles important positions Hamas has taken without really settling them.

Netanyahu is looking for the defeat of Hamas, IMO, a morally supportable position. That Hamas expects the Israeli government to accept coexistence with Hamas on their boarder while Hamas continues to pursue their goal of the elimination of Israel is patently absurd. The Israeli IDF, represented by Galant - who is the leader of the right wing movement in the Israeli government currently partnered with Netanyahu's Likud, is arguing that Netanyahu's demands cannot be met. Obviously he disagrees. Bebe thinks Hamas will ultimately cave under continued military pressure. I agree. Gallant has the power to end cooperation with Likud. This would bring Netanyahu down so, Bebe, by holding out for the defeat of Hamas is making a risky gamble for him politically but, IMO one worth taking. The Axis of Resistance needs to be brought to heel by the combination of demonstrated American military resolve to join the fight and the fighting strength of the IDF.

                      • Love the police action here. They were extremely well prepared to stop the non-sense. I'm all for protesting. It's an American right and an accepted and protected one in true democracies. But there is a difference between protesting and rioting. When that line is crossed and the protest becomes a riot, bring on the billy-clubs..... and that does not appear to have been necessary the way the police had cordoned off the area to funnel idiots into a space that they could control them. Well done.

                          • I've said this before but one has to ask of the protesting American's draped in the Palestinian flags and waving the colors of Hamas if they realize that groups like this are not peace and stability seekers. They seek instability, the destruction of Israel and elimination of what amounts to a peace keeping force of US military in the ME. Their methods to achieve that end is terrorism. This follows a pattern of decades of rejecting two state proposals with the obvious intent of the complete elimination of Israel and a one Palestinian state solution with it's capital Jerusalem. Hamas is and embodies Islamic Jihad. The protesters cluelessly align themselves with this movement. Shameful.

Well, I think the Chicago Police would have acted more like the law enforcers they strived to be barring the idiots running the city. Mayor Lori Lightfoot was responsible for the civil disorder, vandalism and looting that took place following the George Floyd death in 2020 by ordering the police to stand down and let it happen - all at the behest of leftist provocateurs and anarchists. A shameful moment in the history of the Windy City. She latter became a defund the police advocate. How has that worked out for the residents of Chicago and surrounding suburbs? I don't blame the men in blue.
