I think The Chairman refusing to debate DJT will be bad. Probably not as bad as him actually having to speak off the cuff, but it'll have terrible optics for small slice of voters who matter.
The Chairman's big hurdle to get over is -- and I can't believe this is where we are -- competence. Proving to the public he's able to be President. Refusing to debate DJT will only confirm that he's not competent. There's no excuse that's going to save him on that. None. And The Chairman's team will know that.
