Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

For all of the shit that the Presidents of Penn and Harvard took for their testimony on anti-Semitism, I would probably agree with them. Context is hugely important in considering harassment and intimidation. Hate speech that is not a specific call to violence is and should be legal. The answer that they gave that it becomes harassment if it is targeted specifically at an individual makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, in a vacuum. It’s not in a vacuum. It’s against years of vigorously going after words they disagreed with. Penn, e.g.,, is still in process of firing law professor who spoke against affirmative action and favor of Court’s decision.
So, ironically enough, it’s the actual context that truly exposes these fuckers.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

The educational system in this country is a fucking joke...from K thru college. Charter and private schools are far superior...but for some reason...the Teachers Unions are afraid of competition...maybe because they suck at educating? Indoctrination of our kids is going to be the downfall of America.Shut the fuck up Donny!

And that’s the point. That’s the context. If you are on the wrong side of Woke context is irrelevant. When you’re on the right side, context matters a great deal.
Indeed, even the most controversial words she’s said —generally — aren’t particularly different in form, if at all, from those of Kendi and every “anti-racist” out there.
