                    • This reminds me of Ben Franklin’s first term as president, he had just invented electricity and democracy and turned to Abe Lincoln as said, “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!” He easily was my second favorite president Alexander Hamilton.

                              • The link below is to a source I follow, Meduza, an antiwar web site that moved out of Russia and to Latvia shortly after the invasion started. It's a pretty decent appraisal of what's up with the Ukrainian counter-offensive and saves me a bunch of parsing. The take home:
                                • Ukraine's armed forces are having mixed results in achieving apparent objectives. There are 4-5 Ukrainian thrusts and Meduza offers that Ukraine may have spread it's forces to thinly over about a 71 mile section of the FEBA
                                • The offensive’s westernmost position is located near the Dnipro River. It is 71 miles from the easternmost offensive position, which is near Vuhledar- a city close to Bakhmut. If you count Ukraine’s two offensive flanks on the Bakhmut front, which have been ongoing since May, there are a total of five offensives underway.
                                • ISW assesses Russian forces to be executing a doctrinally sound defense of layered, occupied territory. The addition of air power and EW to stress attacking Ukrainian forces is having a multiplying effect on Russian successful defensive operations.
                                • It appears that Ukraine is attempting to focus it's attack that is centered on the boarder between the Donetsk and Zaphriza Oblasts driving toward Mariupol on the coast of the Azov Sea and then on the route that supplies all Russian forces from Taganrog in Russia’s Rostov region. This is not going well if you're measuring success or lack thereof in terms of kms of penetration into Russian defenses. although both sides have lost equipment and personnel in the current fighting.
                                • Another attack axis is running east along the banks of the Dinipro river protecting the flanks of this offense with the river itself. The objective could be the Zaphorizia Nuclear power plant. This attack is going well. Meduza offers that the army needs to leverage what appears to be a weak spot in the Russian defenses and get more units quickly to that area to take advantage of the successes along this axis.
                                • Meduza acknowledges that all of this is preliminary and the battle space has yet to see any of the newly formed and western trained Ukrainian Brigades now in reserve. I'd conclude that most of these axis of attacks are probing for weakness and strengths in the Russian defenses and it seems pretty clear where these are.
A good map if you use the pointier within the amp that you move with your mouse or track pad, then touch one of the round red dots, you'll get a pop-up. Most of these are in Cyrillic. I used google translate to convert them to English.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Meduza has adopted a consistent antiwar position, holding Russia responsible for its military aggression and atrocities. As part of this commitment, we regularly update an interactive map that documents combat operations in Ukraine and the damage inflicted by Russia’s invasion forces. Our map is based exclusively on previously published open-source photos and videos, most of them posted by eyewitnesses on social media. We collect reports already available publicly and determine their geolocation markers, adding only the photos and videos that clear this process.
