  • Equal justice under the law if officially dead in this country. Our Constitution is nothing but toilet paper.

    Nice job Big Guy!
    Shut the fuck up Donny!

    • If convicted, won’t Trump have to be a right-in candidate in some states? Could have misheard. If so, his campaign is dead. Americans are too lazy for writing.

          Pence got cleared extremely quickly.

The turning point for Trump was when the FBI showed up with a subpoena at his door. This came after 15 months of the Archives trying to get him to return stuff. The FBI served him with a subpoena and then had reason to believe that he was STILL hiding things from them. They got a search warrant and yes, found lots of more documents.

The only defense of Trump at that point is that he's truly ignorant and stupid and has no clue what's even in his possession. Obviously need a skilled hand like that to be President again.

The documents aren’t the issue. As you imply in your hypothetical, a real obstruction case is the only path forward. If it’s just the documents then Wiz is more right than you are.

But, my point wasn’t that there wasn’t obstruction of some sort. My point was it’s pretty easy for DJT to say he’s being singled out by the opposition party justice department and then burden shifts to DOJ to explain nuance.

And in our soundbite world of dipshittery, top line bluntness always carries the day over nuance. I mean, Hannibal’s graph on unarmed blacks killed by police illustrates that on your side (or the utter refusal to hear actual crime stats).

So, as a matter of politics it’s a tough look (IMO). YMMV.

            • I'm inclined to think it helps him in the primary. In no way shape or form do I think it helps him with the general electorate. And you know I think Biden's people prefer to run agaisnt the clown rather than a candidate of substance.

              • We live in unusual times. A leading presidential candidate is federally indicted and instead of that beating the END of his campaign, might actually HELP him. We are not on a good path.

Same goes for the Ukraine war. Atrocities and possible war crimes are committed and there’s legitimate debate about which side is responsible. Haven’t those things been plainly obvious in the past? Yet in 2023 it’s not. Enjoy Canada’s chemical warfare!

                  • Pat Robertson should have never gotten involved in politics, but he was not a bigot. His 700 Club employed people of all races, and his Operation Blessing is an organization that provides disaster relief to areas devastated by storms, earthquakes, fires, and other disasters. They help people without question, and without charge. William Booth would approve.

                    • And again, the Dems and their political arm within the Justice Department continue to spit into the wind when it comes to handling Donald Trump. They are going to get him re-nominated if it kills them.

In his published writings, especially his 1991 book The New World Order, Pat Robertson has propagated theories about a worldwide Jewish conspiracy. Michael Land raised the issue in February in The New York Times Book Review, and in April Jacob Heilbrun, writing in The New York Review of Books, cited chapter and verse of Robertson's borrowings from well-known anti-Semitic works.[93]

During the week of September 11, 2001, Robertson interviewed Jerry Falwell, who expressed his own opinion that "the ACLU has to take a lot of blame for this" in addition to "the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays, and the lesbians [who have] helped [the terror attacks of September 11th] happen." Robertson replied, "I totally concur".[78] Both evangelists were seriously criticized by President George W. Bush for their comments,[79] for which Falwell later issued an apology.

Less than two weeks after Hurricane Katrina killed 1,836 people, Robertson implied on the September 12, 2005 broadcast of The 700 Club that the storm was God's punishment in response to America's abortion policy. He suggested that the September 11 attacks and the disaster in New Orleans "could [...] be connected in some way".[81]

Robertson's response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake also drew international condemnation.[83][84] Robertson claimed that Haiti's founders had sworn a "pact to the Devil" in order to liberate themselves from the French slave owners and indirectly attributed the earthquake to the consequences of the Haitian people being "cursed" for doing so.[
