      • Speaking of bad legislation, surely to god one of Biden's shadow handlers will stop this. They are punishing good credit to help support people with bad credit. It's laughably bad:

For instance, starting in May a homebuyer with a credit score between 640 to 659 - considered "fair" - and who has a down payment of 5% will incur an LLPA of 1.5%. Prior to the change, the fee for this group of buyers was 2.75%. That means someone purchasing a $200,000 home would pay an LLPA fee of $3,000 under the new structure, down from $5,000 previously.

But some purchasers won't get as good a deal as they did before. For instance, homebuyers with credit scores of 740 to 759 - considered "very good" - and putting 20% down will face a new LLPA of 1%, compared with 0.5% previously. For the purchase of a $200,000 home, that means the fee will double to $2,000.

In its announcement earlier this year, the Federal Housing Finance Agency said the changes are designed to level the playing field and empower buyers from marginalized communities to compete in the hot market.

          • And, yes, it’s astounding that we have arguably the two worst presidents ever and Kamala is definitely on a “hold my beer” standby.

              • Trump is in the “worst of all time” conversation when it comes to being a chief executive. But in terms of policy and destruction of the country, he’s not in the Top 20.

Trump had some good ideas. He recognized the importance of controlling rampant illegal immigration, for one, but he was such a polarizing and divisive anti-pol with the temperament of a HS jock, that many of his plans could never be acted upon because his behavior energized even the most laissez-faire democrats to oppose him at every turn. To be effective in the game, you have to play the game.

                  • The tone was set on day one when Trump sent out Sean Spicer to berate the media for not describing Trump's inauguration crowd as the largest gathering of humanity in human existence.

Fundamentally he values image far more than substance. That or he can't even distinguish between the two.

The only way Kamala will sniff the presidency is if Biden dies in office. There is no support for Kamala in the base and I think if Kamala actually had support they would have moved on from Biden. But she is HRC bad as a campaigner.

Biden is not the worst president in the US here a re a few that are much worse (in chronological order):

James Buchanan (did nothing to stop the growing gulf that led to the Civil War)
                        Andrew Johnson (first president impeached)
William Taft (was so awful and did so little that Teddy Roosevelt --who handpicked him-- came back in 4 years to run against him)
                        Herbert Hoover (Hoovervilles---enough said)
Richard Nixon (did some farsighted things--but Watergate---using the war of drugs to target portions of the population that didn't support him)
George W Bush (taking the focus from Bin Laden to Iraq in the war on terror and in the process squandering all the global good will US got from 9/11)
Donald Trump (we all lived through this)

Trump had a chance to be a great president. He could have said screw the swamp establishment and worked across the aisle. There was/is some common ground on economic issues with MAGA and progressives. This would have required him doing some actual work and that has been something he has been allergic to his entire life.

Given the Fienstein situtation (which was brought up by progressives and CA Dem party before her reelection) I think as long as Biden draws breath they will have him there. If they had a VP that had some ability that the base could get excited about (the ideal would have been Nina Turner but that was never in the cards----but even someone like Whitmer)) then they would have options.

100 years ago, maybe. It’s impossible to hide as president for long these days. One of 100 senators or 435 representatives? Yeah, but even with that, you get grief. As president, I don’t think it’s possible.
