Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

Picking a candidate in the primary involves looking past those polls and envisioning what the general campaign will be like, and that means having an instinct for what voters want that goes beyond polling.Last edited by Hannibal; May 3, 2023, 06:20 AM.

Along that theme, here are the top 4 priorities Republican voters have in choosing a candidate. It's no mystery that for the most part they've lost Independents for 3 straight cycles.

It seems to me what Independents value right now is image and decorum. Something that is never on a "priorities" ballot. It explains the 2020 election perfectly.
Also --- I believe that a poll of Dems would show a similarly out-of-sync-with-independents set of priorities (e.g. Global Warming, LGBTQ rights, etc),Last edited by Hannibal; May 3, 2023, 06:19 AM.

HOWEVER, I'd guess abortion polls relatively high for independents (certainly behind money and crime), so that's an area of weakness.
The issues on the margin are about creating a general feel that the other side is nutso. It's an aggregate approah (IMO). Unfortunately, DJT and Jan6 play into that. Fortunately, the Progs give the Rs plenty to work with, too -- certainly enough to offset the Rs liabilities IF the head of the party isn't a ginormous nutjob.Last edited by iam416; May 3, 2023, 06:32 AM.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
