  • Quit eating vegetables. You won't need the fiber

    • Nah. Fiber is more than bowel movements. It helps lower cholesterol and regulate blood sugar. The research on the benefits is pretty stellar.

      • Your body doesn't need it unless you are eating fiber. No fiber intake, no need for the fiber.

Keep blood sugar under control by eating fewer carbs and other sugars and controlling insulin.

50% of the people who die from heart disease do not have high cholesterol.

          1. Your body doesn’t need fiber unless you’re eating fiber? I don’t understand that.

          2. Re: blood sugar: For some, that works. With Type I diabetes, it’s ineffective. With Type II and non diabetics, It’s a hard task to avoid all alcohol, pasta, bread. But even then fiber helps even critical fluctuations in blood sugars. Finally, increased dietary fiber makes helps reduce the risk of intestinal cancers.

          3. Only 1.8% of people who have heart attacks had what would be described as “very good” LDL/HDL levels.

          • Disappointing that Fox settled. I was kind of hoping for a precedent-setting decision instead. But I knew that they were going to have to cough up huge dollars.

Anyhow, the Right needs to weaponize the courts against the media the way that the Left did against Fox News. They could easily do this. It's not as if there is a lack of material. But they probably won't.

            • Whatever happened to Rittenhouse suing everyone? That seems like a pretty clear cut case.

There's no way Fox wasn't going to settle that case. $787.5M is a bargain compared to the damage that would be done to their brand if all their big stars and Murdoch himself had to testify in court that they knew it was all bullshit the whole time.

I looked around for anything regarding Rittenhouse and other than a lot of threats to sue people last year it doesn't look like his lawyers have actually done anything.

Defamation cases in the US are tough to win. You have the right to call someone a murderer even if he wasn't convicted by jury (OJ). If that's all he'd be suing over it'd be a weak case. Almost frivolous.

                • Busy day at the Supreme Court. One or more opinions coming at 10AM. They're also hearing a 1st Amendment case today. Plus by the end of the day they should release an order regarding the abortion pill. Depending on whether they agree with the 5th circuit or not the pill's distribution could be much more tightly restricted as of midnight tonight.

                  • I am disappointed the the Dominion case did not go to trial as well. It would have been nice to see those lying jackasses at FOX in court.

But that wouldn't have mattered to the rubes anyway...

They could have easily made the case that their guests are who were making accusations about Dominion voting machines, and not Fox anchors.

if talk show hosts are now liable for what their guests say, then MSNBC, CNN, and The View can and should be sued for a trillion dollars. Is this the new standard now? We know that it is for Fox News at least.

This is another perfect example of how the Dems have balls and the Reps don't. The Democrats are excellent at targeting and destroying their enemies. The Repubilcans are great at being the Washington Generals.
