Well, I mean, you're wrong on that. You're certainly right that DJT is a traveling freakshow. However, there is a check at the Federal level in terms of the House and, to a lesser extent, the Senate filibuster. Now, that can't stop The Chairman FASCIST!!!! use of the Administrative State, but such is life.

But where this shit is bad is where there Ds dominate so much that the Progs dominate. There is nothing the Rs can do about the shitshow in Chicago. Or San Francisco. Or California. I mean, I ain't going to blame the Progs for failing to provided a credible check to R power in, say, Mississippi. There just isn't any real path for the Ds there as there isn't any real path for the Rs in the places I named.

The check in urban locales has to come from sensible Ds. That's it. Lori Lightfoot, who ain't no damn genius, even had the good sense to denounce that bullshit. The Mayor-Elect -- the one annointed by the teachers' union -- prefers to say, "can't blame them."

I think every place would be way better off with balanced political parties, but that ain't how it works. And that has nothing to do with the traveling freakshow or, for that matter, the SOCIALISTS!!!!!!

I have tried this (having a martini with it as I type) and think it is pretty damn good. Lots of nice flavor. Some vanilla with a really nice spicy finish and a very solid mouthfeel. Fuck that Tito's bullshit. I may have to broaden my vodka horizons.
