The problem for R's is that you now have a significant portion of the base -- 30% perhaps -- who believes that any time their candidate loses it was because the Dems committed voter fraud. There are zero consequences for bad candidates so long as they howl about fraud. They can keep running year after year, an odd thing to accept in a party that claims to hate career politicians.
Case in point, Mastriano is running for PA Senate. He's a terrible general election candidate but the hardcore Trumpers are with him and will likely disincentivize any more moderate candidate from running. Not that any R stands a good chance of beating Bob Casey but for a serious economic collapse.

Ukraine: This is one of the lead stories coming out of Ukraine:
Ukraine needs more long-range weapons and “less contemplation on leaks”, said the senior presidential adviser, Mykhailo Podolyak, referring to the recent leak of Pentagon documents. “If we had time, we could watch the [Russian Federation] fall apart & its “elites” devour each other. But we don’t have it, as our people are dying,”
A couple of relevant points:
Discussion of larger, big picture issues involving the national security of sovereign states that are participants in the war in Ukraine appear to be at the basis of western dithering. It's hard for me to understand this dithering over the provision of long range missiles, multi-role fighter aircraft and ammunition. The war in Ukraine and its end brought about by proving to Putin his objectives for control of Ukraine are unachievable should be the allied goal.
It is entirely possible that reporting on this perceived dithering is all journalists have because they simply don't have access to actualities. By that I mean there are substantive discussions going on between participants that are being purposely obscured by public disinformation campaigns. They are probably uncoordinated among western allied participants. In the history of warfare this kind of information op can be repeatedly found after the fact. I don't think there are better designers of these campaigns than the Russians and after all, the Ukrainians aren't far removed from being one of these Orks.
The reality is likely the Russian Federation is closer to collapse than we know from analysis available in the public domain. I believe it is pretty clear that things aren't going well for Putin and that he is masking the multiple failures in the year + following his decision to order an invasion. Increasing restriction of access by Russian citizens to information other than that provided by state propaganda is growing. There are clues though that Putin's hold on power is threatened. Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Wagner Force guy, is inserting himself into Kremlin politics. He's nationalist and is as brutal as Putin, maybe more so. He holds the same twisted views of Russian empire as Putin does. The west doesn't want any part of Prigozhin but he is entirely capable of fomenting discord among Russian elites threatening Putin's hold on power. ISW has been reporting on fractures inside Putin's inner circle between peace proponents and full war nationalists for over a month. My take on this reporting is that it is accurate and prescient.
But Podolyak is spot on. The west cannot afford to dither in the false hope that something will change the course of the war as a result of threats to Putin's power in the short term. There can be no fear that sendingr all types of military aid to Ukraine might risk a larger conflict in eastern Europe. The dithering is prolonging the likelihood of such a conflict and making it more likely that Putin's aims will be realized.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
