There are only so many ways that electricity can be generated. Wind isn't enough for what demand is going to be. Neither is solar.

And good point about desalinization plants Mike. People out west are wringing their hands about where they are going to get fresh water from, and they've even suggested that the Midwest states be forced to give up the water in the Great Lakes. There's an unlimited supply of water just off the west coast where desalinization plants could be the answer. But, no. Can't do that.
