WASHINGTON—Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit Monday seeking the appointment of a special master to review the materials seized by the FBI earlier this month.
Mr. Trump is also seeking a more detailed inventory of the items taken from his home in Mar-a-Lago, as well as the return of any items seized that weren’t within the scope of the search warrant.
“To date, the government has failed to legitimize its historic decision to raid the home of a President who had been fully cooperative,” Mr. Trump’s lawyers said in the civil complaint, titled Trump v. United States Government.Last edited by Hannibal; August 22, 2022, 08:12 PM.

Those Trump lawyers may have filed an incompetent motion, but they look great on television.
More on Alex Jones pleading for forgiveness for his traitorous betrayal of Trump.InfoWarsWell, that didn’t take long.Three days after declaring he found someone “way better than” former President Donald Trump, far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones issued a pleading “emergency message” to beg the ex-president to forgive him for endorsing Florida Gov. Trump had one of his media allies release a May letter from the National Archives overnight. If anything, it doesn't make him look good. It's clear this fight with the Archives and the FBI has been going on since 2021 and documents were removed on at least three known occasions.
* January 2022 - NARA removes 15 boxes of classified material from Mar a Lago, including 700 pages of extremely high level material labeled special program access.
* Over the next several months it would seem relations grew testy as Trump objected to any of these documents being shared with the FBI. Trump attempted to assert "executive privilege" and forbid the FBI to look at them - NARA, in consultation with the DOJ and WH, rejected this request, which is mentioned in the May 2022 letter.
* Early June the FBI shows up to Mar a Lago this time with a subpoena. More stuff gets taken
* August 8th the FBi returns with a warrant and removes even more.
As one person reporter noted, Trump's been aware the FBI wanted to know what's being recovered from Mar a Lago since at least late April/early May. So he's really not weeks late requesting a special master filter the materials before they can look at anything -- he's months late.
Documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago were among government's most classified, letter shows - POLITICO

In North Carolina, the party so concerned with Democracy is poised to nullify constitutional amendments passed by the general electorate in what comes as close to direct demoracy as we have. The Amendemnts at issue? -- well, of course, one of them is requiring a Voter ID.
That's what the Ds are. Don't think for the Left has ever been anything other than totalitarian.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
