Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly Robin Vos survived a close race against a challenger backed by Trump. Trump has been furious at Vos for not "doing more" to overturn the 2020 election.
"I never took this race for granted. I never have. But this was closer, simply because of the president's last minute involvement. But again, the only thing that we differed on was the ability to overturn the 2020 election, which was clearly unconstitutional and hopefully now a settled subject, that we can now move forward and not talk about the past anymore," Vos told WISN 12 News' Kent Wainscott late Tuesday.
In another twist in this race, Michael Gabelman, the man Vos hired and paid $11,000 a month in taxpayer money to investigate the 2020 election turned on Vos and endorsed Steen.
"He's an embarrassment to the state. I hired him on recommendations thinking we were going to hire somebody who was a good, articulate independent voice," Vos said.

Coolest inflation report in close to a year I think. Everything fell short of expectations across the board. Core CPI month over month was unchanged for the first time in I don't know how long. That comes on the back of a fall overall of energy prices and almost 8% fall in gasoline.
Yeah, we need several reports like this in a row but this was a positive step today. Leading several of the CNBC crew like Rick Santelli to declare inflation's peaked.

Cheap energy is a pretty big deal. Policies that make energy more expensive are a pretty big deal.
Hopefully we've turned the corner, so to speak, on The Chairman's inflation.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

Very good inflation report and Santelli saying inflation might have peaked is also notable. He is the guy who originated the Tea Party, so he is no Progressive. After the next raise in interest rates, the Federal Reserve should sit tight for quite a long time and see if inflation is indeed coming down. The Fed generally overshoots both on the upside and on the downside, so let's give it some time.
Of the 530,000 jobs gained last month, 390,000 were part-time jobs.

To back that good news on inflation up, read an article that described a little reported measure of economic activity: containers arriving in US port, how long they sit there waiting transport to warehouses and further distribution from there to retail stores.
You've seen news of ships sitting off shore of west coast ports waiting to dock and unload. This was characterized as supply chain problems behind inflation. That's receding as a year ago with manufacturers ramping up production and shipping product in anticipation of demand, they're now cutting back as inventories rise with excess product sitting on shelves.
Tracking this predicts slowing consumer demand going forward with supply suficient to meet it. In this scenario inflationary pressures recede, inflation declines.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
