        • Judge throws out count 6 in Rittenhouse: Possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.

The weapon he used had a barrel length greater than 16 inches which is the statute.

So we can now toss out the argument that he was illegally carrying. Another media myth debunked.

          • Got a feeling that Halo Infinite Multiplayer is releasing today. Today being the 20th Anniversary of Xbox and Halo CE

Celebration live stream starts at 1 EST, fingers crossed for Infinite announcement. Otherwise it's going to be a long wait until Dec. 8th.

The statute is there so that kids can hunt. Getting off on a technicality TBH. Unless you say that he was hunting Commies. Heh heh.

                • Mike: I'm counting on you to keep us up to date on what is happening at the trial. Excellent job so far. Thanks.

                  • Thanks, no problem. Judge is giving instructions to the jury which is expected to take around an hour. Then they'll probably take break before closing statements. This won't go to the jury until dinner time.

                    • Here goes Binger. They'll break around 1:00 EST for lunch. Binger gets to go first and last (allowed a 30 minute rebuttal of defense

Jesus Christ! He didn't make it 30 seconds until Richards had to object.

Anyway.... break at 1:00 EST. Sounds like the jury will come back in the morning and start fresh rather than go late tonight.

                      • I would like for the deliberations to take no more than 30 minutes. If there is any prolonged debate over his innocence I would consider that to be very troubling.

                        • I think just the administrative aspect of preparing the official verdict will take a little bit of time. Will be curious if they deliberate tonight or not. Schroeder took a count of hands and 8 of the 18 jurors wanted to stay and work late tonight. Upon the conclusion of closing arguments, the jury will be randomly pared down to 12. Maybe the majority of that jury pool will want to get on with it tonight.

                            • It's worth noting that there is greater significance to the the gun charge being dropped than just the maximum 9 months/$10,000 fine. Andrew McCarthy had been pointing out that the prosecution will argue that since Rittenhouse was illegally carrying the weapon, he is not entitled to a self-defense argument. Or at least that it would be a far greater task in mounting that defense. Without that lynchpin, the case for the prosecution is in even worse shape.

                              • Out of an interest in opposing viewpoints, I checked out a video from Morning Joe that had Clair McCaskill and a former prosecutor as panelists. Joe Scarborough stated on live television THREE DAYS AGO that Wendy Rittenhouse drove Kyle to Kenosha and that Kyle sprayed over 60 rounds! SIXTY! He fired 8 total shots that night. 6 of them struck his attackers. Kyle also drove himself to Kenosha that day - a fact that was substantiated early in his own testimony. It seems like the defendant's testimony in a national story such as this would at least gain the interest of those who are paid handsomely to discuses it on national TV. But nope. MSNBC, among others, STILL misrepresent the facts of the case even though they have been addressed in open court for all to see.
