My wish is that this kind of bull-shit above is exposed as the huge danger to the nation that it is. We're a receptive audience to what we're seeing carrying our own biases into judgement. The risk is that not enough of "us" is going to get the important message the Rittenhouse trial is capable of conveying.

The judge in this case has an immense opportunity to speak on the kinds of "injustice" we see in our group here. The injustice I speak of isn't about racism or inequities - that's another story altogether. Its about the injustices being heaped on American citizens of all races, like Rittenhouse, that value the tenets of the US Constitution, jurisprudence that follows the law, civic responsibility and the maintenance of civil order by local governments.

Of course, that's not going to happen in this criminal court but Rittenhouse will undoubtedly take his case for compensation resulting from the injustice heaped on him before a civil court. It's here that it is likely to reach a federal district court on appeal. At that level, judges are expected to look at the bigger picture. The opportunity in a conservative court for such an opportunity is like manna from haven for a federal judge seeking notoriety and a willingness to call out the progressive and radical left for what unreasonable overreactions that have occurred since the George Floyd killing at the hands of police.
