Well, the reason they lost last night was because of (a) racists, duh; and (b) Washington didn't do enough to deliver Prog policies. The problem isn't the Squad. The problem is Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema.
The progs held up the popular infrastructure bill for months. Moderates like Manchin or Gottheimmer gutted the omnibus of most of the popular (admittedly expensive) items and replaced them with SALT cap repeal, a policy that only benefits people in a handful of states and overwhelmingly benefits the richest people in those states.
But mostly the Dems have done nothing since passing a 3rd bill of covid relief...which was over 6 months ago now I think?

The top-level obvious explanation is that Chairman Joe is under water. It drags everyone down. It really may not be much more than that. HOWEVER, I do think "schools" in general were a good issue for Youngkin. It may not have made a big difference, but it was a clear message that he could stay on and hammer. And Hannibal is right about Terrible Terry and the Ds -- they don't want parental control. They really don't -- both for technocratic and union reasons.
However, as someone observed yesterday, there are way more parents than unionized teachers.
To reiterate, though -- Chairman Joe is in a really bad spot right now and I think he's a pretty direct proxy for where the Ds stand. When you remove the "but, but, but TRUMP!!!" argument, the Ds are fairly incoherent at the moment. They may have some popular ideas, but instead of dealing with them in their own bill or in some sort of coherent bill, they throw them into a fucking trainwreck of a reconciliation bill is still a giant lump of clay (for the most part). If, e.g., they really were dead set of paid family leave, then package that as a separate bill. If really want to address taxes, the pass a separate tax bill that repeals PDJT stuff (including SALT cap), adds new taxes, etc. You at least have very straight-forward definable issues.
What you have now is basically that the Ds want to spend TRILLIONS more (on top of the $5T or whatever we've already spent) and they don't particularly care on what -- as long as it's on something. That just makes them the party of spending a fuckton -- during a period of, heh, "transitory" inflation. And I honestly think voters feel that.

The MSM still doesn't get it. They are spinning last nights race results...big time...claiming it's due to nothing getting done regarding the budget...upset that "nothing is getting done".

I should clarify -- the Ds are definitely for the infrastructure bill -- and that's a clearly defined bill, as well as virtually open borders. And that's pretty well-defined to by The Chairman's actions.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

In the end, it looks like Murphy should win by 1-2 points. I guess it's still a win. But, JFC, that may be an even worse sign than the total Virginia debacle.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

DA Dipshit is back at it again. LOL. The judge had to excuse the jury because the DA introduced a bunch of hearsay (video from a live streamer) and then proceeded to upbraid him for 10 minutes. The guy who's video the prosecution played is not participating in the case so he can't be cross-examined. The judge is... exasperated.
