  • Stand by. Self righteous posts are coming. Oh wait! They have already arrived.

    Celebrating? Ha!

    Jesus, you're a drama queen

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the "Law and Order" Rs

"Yep. She had it coming. If she had only done what the police told her. If she would only have followed the law she's be alive today"

If I heard it once, I heard it a thousand times. But you know, storming the US Capitol is not near the offense that selling loose cigarettes on the street is

    Cut the indignant bullshit.

    It is stupid

    • Fuck her and the rest of the "patriots" that stormed the Capitol.

      Fuck her.
I am in favor of shooting people that are physical threat to our lawmakers. Storming the Capitol made her and the rest of these morons a physical threat

Fuck her. Fuck them. Fuck Trump and Fuck you if you support this.

      • So that is celebrating?

        Got it.

I am all for Law and Order. Why do you support unlawful activities?

Yep. Fuck 'em. No celebration. No sympathy either.

Carry on with your ridiculous drama, though

          • Its just a display of hard right victimology. You know, all problems are the result of The Left, democrats, antifa, BLM, the deep state, massive fraud, socialist indoctrination centers called universities, AOC, the Steele dossier, the media, and the current bogeyman d'jour. Need to wedge in here somewhere how white males are discriminated against too. All of this has finally provoked righteous patriots, the Fuck Your Feelings crowd, to violently storm OUR CAPITAL to overturn a Constitutionally mandated election tally for the Presidency at the direction of an unhinged lame duck. It's important to disavow the violence <nudge nudge wink wink> but "understand" why it came about.

Look at a pre WWII news reel of 1935 Germany with Adolf in a parade. The streets are lined with ordinary people, not soldiers. Look at their faces, the adoration. Then look at the faces of the Trumpsters at yesterday's Save America March rally. Same expressions and mindless devotion. No lie is too outrageous to be willingly spoon fed from the top. Cultists who have given up free will to their master. This is a bad place to be at in a democracy.

                Isn't that Hannibal's point? Meh.

I get it. And, on most issues I'm totally on-board. I have, e.g., zero inclination to call for some sort of "play nice" bullshit for the Courts now that the Rs have to take the mantle of obstruction from the Ds.

However, rioting -- this bullshit -- the bullshit we've seen this year -- I'm not going to treat it with kid gloves and I'm not going to make exceptions based on why people are trespassing or burning shit or steal shit or throwing shit at police. That's my personal line in the sand. YMMV.

                • Man, CGVT, I get the rage but you'd be wise to think real carefully before you put thoughts into words. There's plenty of justifiable outrage on both sides of this. The last 5 pages of posts about this have been evidence of that.

I think we can all agree that what went down yesterday in DC was despicable. I'll add that what has been my position over the summer on rioting, there are provocateurs both foreign and domestic behind a lot of this. There's great benefit to our enemies provoking what went down in the Capital of the United States of America. Think about that.

Still, there are a lot of angry "Saxons" out there for the moronic shit that characterized the D controlled government's response to - I guess where it started most recently - the Tayor and Floyd shootings. You simply can't have that kind of shit going on in civil society. Most of those responses were abandonment of duty to enforce law and order by public officials.

So, when I demand accountability for those responsible for the rioting in the capital yesterday, right along with that comes calls for accountability of the officials who, a few months ago let their cities burn, stood down law enforcement and called the violence that went on responsible and lawful protesting.

                  • It’s an interesting personality test.

                    Four (correction FIVE) choices:

                    A. Race riots were an understandable reaction to perceived injustice; however, DC riots were criminal - those assholes should be in jail.

                    B. DC riots were an understandable reaction to perceived injustice; however, race riots were criminal - those assholes should be in jail.

                    C. Both riots were fine. Just let them be.

                    D. Both riots were criminal - all of those assholes should be in jail.

I guess there is an E. We will call it the DSL corollary:

                    E. They are both wrong (one a bit more than the other), but destruction of property and trespassing should not ever be met with force. Statues, buildings, and whatever can be replaced.

                    • Yeah, COVID + Insurrection tend to put me in a bad mood. But the real reflector of how things really are is the stock market, right? It jumped up over 31,000 this morning.

                      In COVID news:

Florida is in its darkest hours of coronavirus spread, as the winter’s surge of infections is not projected to let up for weeks — if not longer, health experts say .......

Meanwhile, FL's statewide positivity rate, while it has gone up about 2 percentage points in the last two months, has remained about the same, hospitals are coping just fine and vaccines are being distributed as quickly as they possibly can be given infrastructure and supply demand. Oh, and of course Desantis has fucked that up according to the local papes.

It took me longer than usual to regain balance today after yesterday's events but we are into another period of raging dire consequences predictions from a fundamentally uninformed media. There are several studies being reported on in the lay press that are being presented as fact when the ones I've had time to look at are pre-publication, not peer reviewed and all concluded with "more study is needed." But FACT!

                      Deep breaths.

Fuck me if that is not one of the questions on the multitude of testing I participated in during my youth that I wished all of the correct answers were that obvious and you didn't have to guess and choose distractor C.

I expect nothing, kind sir. And with that mind set I am never disappointed. (Added a choice E, though).
