I personally think much of PDJT's foreign policy was actually fairly spot-on. I hope that Biden doesn't go with the kneejerk "PDJT BAD!!!" response and viscerally do the opposite. In fact, my hope for Biden is that he is measured. Police protection, fire services and snow plowing are all government services that are paid for by taxes collected from the citizens. The government is lawfully bound to provide these services.
They are not socialism. Socialism takes control of business functions like farms, factories and utilities and removes them from citizen control, and places control under the umbrella of the government.
After all, only the government can efficiently, safely, and fairly run anything and everything.
The obtaining of wealth is an evil act, and must be stopped and thoroughly punished. Unless you are a wealthy democrat.

I'll also say that when it comes to Ds and socialism, there are self-described Socialists in the that party. Now, it may be that they're politically and historically illiterate and just think "Socialists" mean increased socialized services. OR, it could be that they know exactly what they're talking about and very much mean Socialism. Now, having read the philosophical goals of, say, the Green New Deal, I'm inclined to think it's the latter. But, perhaps they just mean the former.
What's not up for debate is what they refer to themselves as. And I'd sugesst that if they don't want to be labaled socialists that they ought not label themselves as Socialists.
Finally, while the self-described Socialists are obviously a small minority in the D party, they are actually elected officials in Washington. The contrast is with the few hundred/thousand PDJT supporters that some people think are the seeds of a revolution. The blindingly obvious point is that the self-described Socialists are more entrenched in the D party than the Trumpista knuckleheads. So, predicting the socialist takeover of the D party is on far more solid ground than predicting some nonsense revolution led by Wizard.
