    • The ol' Tom Harkin-Paul Tsongas 1-2 to open up the 1992 D primary was great. Clinton had like one win in the first 8 states or something. But, he was hanging around.

Ted Cruz was probably a semi-accurate sentiment, he got crowded up and split-voted to death in the primaries that mattered. By the time it was 1v1(v Kasich) it was over.

        • And in 1972, the moderate Muskie was the initial front-runner until Nixon's people concocted a 'scandal'. Muskie dropped out and the much more liberal McGovern ended up winning the nomination. Nixon got the candidate he wanted to run against.

          Hey...wait a minute...

Speaking of ex-Nixon employees, Trump spent a considerable amount of time in the middle of the night blasting his own DOJ for their harsh sentencing recommendation for Roger Stone.

Heh. In addition to going after other candidates, PDJT has been ominously silent on the Marxist, too.

                • Well, AA, things are about to get better for you -- when this disaster finally comes to pass I've decided that I'm driving south to Alabamistan and navigating my way to your bunker. We'll wait out the four years of misery together. I'll be sure to bring sufficient slivovitz to last the duration and, I may possibly swing by Chicago to pick up some Maloort.

                  See you soon!

                  • For the life of me, I don't get people that buy these land yachts. I'm definitely not in that group. Thought about it when I got the wanderlust bug in my 50s but after calculating costs ,,,,, no way.

In Ann Arbor on game days, the place is swarming with them. Pioneer High School, right across the street from the stadium, charges $250 to park an RV and yet it fills up early! WTF .... people with money to burn I guess.

I suspect your friend will have regrets after owning that thing for a year, finding it's worth maybe half of what he paid for it and still has a huge unpaid diesel fuel bill on his credit card. And that assumes he actually used it after the novelty wore off and he got tired of trying to drive it in city traffic. When that time comes you will have the pleasure of guffawing over it.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                          • Yeah, insurance, maintenance, fuel, and marina fees are all expensive. I like getting out on a boat but I can do that on a much smaller scale.

It was an interesting thing to keep NASA busy after the moon landings, but all people remember is that ended up as a flaming wreck over the Pacific. At least that's what came to mind when the woman that I was dating 20 years ago decided that she wanted to buy one. She's a VP at GM right now, but I'm definitely thankful that I avoided being incinerated by running away from that.
