I DO get very amused at the generic statements Mnuchin or someone else in the Admin has been leaking out every couple weeks about how well talks are moving along. I said several months ago I believed those statements to pretty much be horseshit and they were doing it to goose the market.

Even Jeff is with me on that now.

                • Short and sweet impeachment polling data ...... 47% overall favor impeachment but it's mostly Ds that make up that percentage.

You know this but how the question is phrased is critical. I care less about the technical basis - i.e., the law - upon which any articles are based and are then forwarded to the Senate than I do about Trump's irrationality that spans a whole lot of critical areas - IMO.

My take is that his apparent irrationality as president is dangerous and harmful to US global interests. His tariff bit is brutal on markets and certain segments of the US economy with no off-ramp in site. I just don't get this.

So, is being fucking bat-shit crazy impeachable. Wait, let me answer that ....... NO!

I wonder if a poll were phrased in such a way as to take this kind of thing into consideration what would the numbers look like? I think something like that has been posted here but I forget. Anyone.

                  • lol, if you genuinely were convinced that Trump was mentally deranged and bat-shit crazy, I'm pretty sure the Founders would've accepted that as "impeachable"

                    • So now there's documented proof that Devin Nunes was speaking with Giuliani, Parnas, Jon Solomon, and the other ghouls at the center of the "Smear Biden" campaign. Back in the early part of the year before anything was publicly known.

No wonder he's been so vociferously trying to get the investigation shut down

Trump’s lawyer was in talks with, among others, Devin Nunes and officials at OMB as the president pursued a political agenda in Ukraine.

You added "mentally deranged" which implies a psychiatric evaluation with a diagnosis code. That hasn't happened and it won't but, duh, if the house got a credible psychiatrist to be able and willing to make that diagnosis and to testify during the inquiry his behavior met those of the DSM 5 for a MH derangement, say a personality disorder like Narcissism, then he could be impeached.

But in the current circumstance, that's not going to happen so, again, NO ..... being described as "bat shit crazy" isn't going to cross the bar of impeachable, not even for the forefathers.

BTW, when I looked it up and that look up is available at the link, although I'm not a psychiatrist, GD, Trump meets just about everyone of the DSM IV criterai for the diagnosis of Narcissism. You'll note that the update to DSM 5 gets a little tougher on assigning that diagnosis as assigning it requires that the patient be functionally impaired by the DO. even though I think Trump can be irrational and in that context potentially dangerous, there is evidence, at least in my lay view, that he's not functionally impaired. I may not like what he does, what action he takes, but he hasn't really done anything dangerous to characterize him as functionally impaired..... in a legal context that he "might" also isn't going to fly.

Now, back to the original question. Have you seen anything that asks the question in the context I described in my OP? If so does the majority want his ass out of the WH yet?

                        • Hey, DSL, cheer up on your portfolio. In the end it will go up in value and probably somewhere after the 15th when Trump announces a "good will" postponement of scheduled China tariffs.

Also, Trump, and probably the US economy, benefits from him blustering about the fucking Chicoms and them not knuckling under to his trade demands. They actually might soften. But you and I are going to have to live with this fucktard getting re-elected for that to happen and my bet is that the DJIA will top 30,000 if he does.

So, what's it gonna be Strangewoke? Your portfolio value or your political hopes for socialism being dashed.

                              • Rudy Giuliani's relevant phone log from April 24th, the day Ambassador Yovanovitch was fired and recalled back to DC

                                1) The OMB is the agency that put a hold on the military aid.

                                2) Why would Giuliani be speaking with and taking calls from the OMB? The Republicans have been advancing the idea that he had gone rogue and wasn't coordinating with the WH at all. The call logs really, really make that a difficult argument to keep making.

                                3) Mick Mulvaney is still the head of the OMB as well as Chief of Staff. We don't know for sure just from this but it's a safe bet Mulvaney is who Giuliani was speaking with.

                                4) Rudy took a call from his good buddy and soon-to-be-convicted felon Lev

                                5) The second longest call Giuliani had that day was with a mysterious caller referenced only as "-1". I'll give you one guess who that was.
