Nothing new. The Dem donors are rightly scared that their power is slipping away with Warren/Sanders ascending. They see Biden faltering badly and are not convinced Mayor Pete can get the nomination.

      • Biden is hardly faltering badly, that's nonsense.

              Latest polls:

Iowa (Quinnipac): Warren 20, Mayor Pete 18, Bernie 17, Biden 15

I don't know many that have Biden as a second choice if their candidate doesn't meet the 15% threshold in the individual meeting places where they will caucus.

              New Hampshire (CNN/UNH): Bernie 21, Warren 18, Biden 15, Mayor Pete 10

If Biden finishes 3rd and 4th in Iowa and New Hampshire that that will be two big blows to a campaign that is trailing badly in fundraising (behind Bernie, Warren and Mayor Pete). In fact, he indicated that he would welcome a pro Biden PAC to help out. Biden's whole campaign is built on that I can beat Trump. The only Dem nominee (since 1976 when Iowa moved to the front) to not win at least one of Iowa and New Hampshire was Bill Clinton in 1992 (it should be noted that Sen Tom Harkin of Iowa was running that year and the other candidates did not spend a lot of money or energy there).

Now, I expect Biden wins South Carolina. The really interesting state is going to be Nevada. Should Biden lose there (and Bernie is working very hard to court Latino voters not just in Nevada but everywhere) it is very big trouble.

I think Biden's time has passed. Running an establishment candidate with moderate views and a ton of experience. I saw that playbook in 2016. It didn't work then--won't work now.

              • Again Biden has not faltered badly, it is still nonsense. He has had weakness in South Carolina and Iowa all along. Nationally he has maintained his lead all along, he's not faltering. His campaign is based upon he has been the strongest candidate in the polls since he announced.

That must be why Bloomberg is getting into the race, because Biden is the strongest candidate.

As to Biden always having weakness in Iowa and New Hampshire that is some revisionist history. He got in the race on April 25th.

In the polls that have polled multiple times in Iowa since Biden entered the race here are the results:

Des Monies Registar (June) Biden 24 +8 (Sanders 16), (September) Biden 20 -2 (Warren 22)......lost the lead and 4 point drop

USA Today (June) Biden 24 +8 (Harris 16), (October) Biden 18 +1 (Warren 17).....has a one point lead and a 6 point drop

CBS News (June) Biden 30 +8 (Sanders 22), (July) Biden 24 +5 (Sanders 19), (September) Biden 29 +3 (Sanders 26), October Biden 22 0 (Warren 22...Sanders 21).....tied for the lead and an 8 point drop

Iowa State University (September) Biden 16 -8 (Warren 24), (October) Biden 12 -16 (Warren 24, Mayor Pete 20, Sanders 18).......never had the lead and has lost 4 points.

That is a definite downward trend for Biden in Iowa. The fact that his campaign is downplaying expectations for him there is telling. Biden's big thing is that he is the most electable and that starts taking hits when you aren't winning.

Have to run, but will take a look at the New Hampshire polls since Biden declared in my next post.

                  • Republicans put out the list of Impeachment witnesses they want to subpoena and its about what you'd expect. Almost no one who has any insight into what Trump did or what the Admin was doing -- instead they want Hunter Biden (of course), the whistleblower, Bruce Ohr's wife, and a bunch of other 2016 conspiracy theory garbage.

Should point out that most Republican Senators who have commented about it think the whistleblower should NOT be called to testify. Only the most pathetic pro-Trump hacks (Brother Lindsey) want to see that happen.

"As we drove past the rows of white grave markers, in the gravity of the moment, I had a deep sense of the importance of the presidency and a love of our country, " wrote Mr Trump Jr, 41. "In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we'd already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we'd have to make to help my father succeed - voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were 'profiting off of the office.'"

He later adds: "Frankly, it was a big sacrifice, costing us millions and millions of dollars annually. Of course, we didn't get any credit whatsoever from the mainstream media, which now does not surprise me at all."

                          • Story begins with "cybersecurity expert" Rudy Giuliani accidentally texting a reporter his password.

But it's more about the shady cast of characters that Rudy Giuliani associates with. Lev Parnas & Fruman, a 20-year-old young woman with zero experience who has become Rudy's Communications Director, and the mysterious "Charles", who is almost certainly Charles Gucciardo, a long Island attorney that loaned Lev Parnas $500K to start "Fraud Guarantee".

On a side note, in the hour since I first saw this story, Christianne Allen (Rudy's "Comms Director") has changed her Instagram page from public to private profile. Can't look at it anymore.
