        • Two non PDJT things:

          (1) Big ups to Governor Newsome and the term "re-energisation" policies. I can't think of a better representation of left-wing doublespeak. Brilliant.

          (2) The Covington kid (Nick Sandeman) can proceed against the WaPo on some claims. Very bad news for the WaPo. Juries punish bad actors, and the WaPo acted despicably. Their only hope was to get the case dismissed. That's a shame. LOL.

          • Liz Cheney, of all people, has come out and asked fellow Republicans to stop attacking Vindman's character and patriotism. "It is shameful to question their patriotism, their love of this country".

(Several Trump sycophants have insinuated on TV in the past 24 hours that he's a Ukrainian double agent, a spy, working against US interests, etc.)

It's great to see federalism working. I mean, who would have thunk it? Except me and Chief Justice Roberts.

                          • Jon, interesting article from Politico. It's hard to argue with the optics that article creates and the historical record it's based upon.

It disappoints me that our presidential candidates since 2014 or so, as I believe the HRC Campaign was just as knee deep in this kind of shit that the DJT campaign was, have sunk so low when their predecessors, if the record is accurate, shut such ideas down as soon as it became apparent what was being offered to them by the Russians.

It certainly is an indicator of how low American politics and the pursuit of power has sunk. No one should be surprised that Trump would engage in these kinds of dangerous liaisons with the Russians. It is, after all, how the business world behaves - not very ethically or with consideration for a greater purpose. As you have said all along, Trump is Putin's puppet.

                            • The length and cost of these elections make it pretty easy for a foreign government to exploit a US election. Social media is avenue that didn't exist for the Soviets.

                              • ...... and the digital age that has made hacking a world wide cottage industry and a formidable weapon to be used by foreign governments.

Again, no surprise that the Russians and Chinese - who have a special interest in overtly shaping the policies of any US president but especially one as malleable as PDJT seems to be - are digitally snooping looking for useful information on the top D candidates should Trump's reelection prospects take a hit.

That the world, and especially Americans it would seem, are so hooked on social media as a daily source of their news and information, that electorates in countries with uncensored feeds are incredibly vulnerable to nefarious idea and political opinion shaping.

Lots of talk about doing something about this. It seems to me that short of censorship, there isn't anything that can be done. Education is the best preventive and in this country citizens are short on it.
