  • Sheriff David Clarke (remember him?) says that Fox has become a 'center-left' network.

I'm sure it's a total, TOTAL coincidence but the lunatic has been banned from Fox since February of 2018. He was working for a Trump SuperPAC for a while but they fired him.

The infamous firebrand hasn’t appeared on Fox in more than a year and he no longer works for the pro-Trump super PAC that hired him to do media.

      • On two documented occasions, Trump dismissed the American translator/note-taker, and held conversations with Putin with only the Russian translator present. Which means that discussions only the Russian gov't and Trump (NO AMERICANS) know the content of.

What conversations, other than treason, could have been held that required no other Americans be present?

        Serious question.

the democrats would waste their time going after Trump supporters. The only thing they have to do is not go wildly left, and it seems they can't help themselves.

                • just because McCain is dead doesn't mean he wasn't fokking trump to the bitter end

trump gets elected and McCain and his staff ensure that dossier with all its BS starts off the trump presidency. you wanna turn it over to the fbi for investigation fine--but your dead ass turned it over to buzzfeed

                  trump is a narcissitic ahole

still going to vote for him over what socialist candidate comes from the DNC

pretty stupid if you ask me they wont debate on fox. fox viewership continues well beyond what the other networks have on board. you want to win an election you needs to sway some of those fox viewers. fox other then the 3 hour primetime lineup actually is balanced in its afternoon lineup

Crash - Not trying to be combative, but your statement illustrates whats wrong with today's American politics. To say that you will vote for mentally ill probable traitor over an undetermined opponent is hardly indicative of reasoned consideration. Does that mean you find a kindred spirit with, say, blind AOC supporters that label conservatives as Nazis like you label dems socialist?

Like to know if Fox is being prohibited from HOSTING a debate or covering the debates? SInce Fox is Trump's recognized propaganda arm, I can see the hesitation to allow such a willing mouth piece to host, but would find abhorrent to ban their cameras at the venues.

                    • Trump boycotted one of the debates on Fox in 2016 because he was mad about something Megyn Kelly said.

Also, Republicans refused to allow MSNBC to host any of their debates in 2016. That was pretty dumb of them, eh crash?

                      • Update on the Utrecht attack. 3 confirmed dead and reports of additional attacks at other tram stations. Utrecht University on lock-down and local hospitals on mass casualty alert.

Law enforcement and anti-terror units securing potential future targets and pursuing the gunmen (more than one?).

One gunman has been identified from photos taken by by-standers as a Turk, Gosman Tanis.

The Dutch have been criticized in the past following terror attacks in France, Most notably, the 4th of July attack a year ago where many were killed by a terrorist ramming a truck into the crowd gathered to watch a fire-works display. Apparently planning went on in Holland and it wasn't handled wel. Since then, apparently things have been beefed up there. Hope they catch these guys quickly.

Sick fuckers and worth remembering all the talk about ISIS being routed out of Syria and their last stronghold doesn't mean the world is a safer place from terror attacks like this. Seems to be the latest MO ..... get guns, go into crowded places and just shoot them up. Hard to defend against this. Would not doubt motive for this attack in Utrecht was revenge for this weekend's Mosque killings in NZ.

leak some BS made up info, have a network pick up the BS, use it to justify an investigation

who are the mentally ill here anyway? an entire presidency neutered by an entire shitstain media circus to take down the presidency based on a fake dossier financed by Hillary and the work of random internet users on a cnn website which steel for some reason believed

                          • More from Fallows, a real interesting letter from a pilot. I'll highlight this part:

The fault, in my opinion, lies with the airlines involved and their associated training. Flight positions are coveted, nobody in one wants to rock the boat and admit his inadequacy. A recipe for accidents. The manufacturer, airline, and pilots themselves all share some of the blame for putting up with less than adequate training.

Malcolm Gladwell wrote a chapter in his book Outliers about the airlines and cockpit culture. I wonder if this is similar.

When, on Wednesday, a reporter asked National Transportation Safety Board chairman Deborah Hersman about the role of pilot "deference" in the Asiana 214 plane crash, the conversation turned to a media speculation meme that's been bubbling about the deadly incident for about 24 hours: could the fact that the pilots were Korean have anything to do with their behavior leading up to the crash?

                              Right.

The guy has made his own bed by his actions over the last 4 years. Now he can sleep in it.

I'm not going to blame the Mueller investigation, authorized by the Justice Department, for finding something out about Trump's business activities that may reflect some level of criminal activity that may or may not be connected to the Russian government and/or Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Too many people think the Mueller investigation was all about Trump. It wasn't and it's charter and goals were entirely legitimate.

We're far from any indictments either from state's AGs or via an impeachment proceeding but we're a lot closer to it than we were probably just a few months ago. Trump isn't helping his case with people like me who generally support some of his administration's policies by his behavior that in my medical opinion certainly fits various diagnostic criteria for mental illness.

An impeachable circumstance? No. Does the 25th Amendment pertain? Not IMO but there is plenty of room for debate there.

I think Trump's biggest threat is coming from investigations of the Trump organization by NY's AG. If those allegations fit the definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors," I don't see how Pelosi can stand in the way of the House initiating impeachment proceedings and McConnell will, as well, be hard pressed to not proceed with a trial in the Senate. Can our Congressmen be trusted upon to be patriots and not partisans? I really don't know the answer to that with any certainty but my gut says no.

I read with interest both links. I don't think either of them sheds any new light on the Ethiopian Airline Crash and Boeing's or pilot training's role in avoiding the circumstances (still unknown with certainty).

It's been clear to me that there is a good chance that the 737 MAX's MCAS and pilot training are involved but, as one of the commenters in the JF article notes ...... aircraft mishaps usually have multiple factors involved in a chain like sequence where the interruption of any link in the chain could have prevented the mishap.

Again, calling on my own personal experience both as the subject of an aircraft mishap investigation and having participated in two others, I can unequivocally say, mishaps ARE the result of a chain of errors. Rarely, and I've never seen it myself, is there one causal factor.

My take at present still is don't fall in love with your pet theory(ies) for the cause of the Ethiopian Airline 737 MAX 8 crash. The follow-on to that is don't start thinking about what needs to be done based on any theories that might be completely wrong.

I like talking and posting about this. It's in my wheelhouse but I'm not sure I like all the media scrutiny right now. As has been said, it's making it hard on the investigators, the Airlines and Boeing. Airplane crashes are juicy stuff for journalists but we have better things to keep informed about: Trump's expanding idiotic behavior, violent nationalism and the potential for retaliatory violence by the perceived targets of that nationalism.
