  • last US fatal airliner crash was in buffalo in 2009

based on Canadian radar maybe Hal is taking over at the critical moment and certain pilots cannot override t

interesting if those 5 other episodes mirror the two crashes as far as what happened and how they got out of it

    • far as the manafort case goes--seems like you are under double jeopardy if the state is coming back with essentially the same bank fraud charges he was prosecuted on before.

I guess they will go in and claiming that each transaction is a separate crime instead of lumping the bunch together --and I have no doubt once he got away with it he did it numerous times--but the number of counts of bank fraud in the federal indictment was numerous--I guess the state must have found numerous different bank fraud incidents

I doubt everyone in the academics fraud case are also going to face state charges are they?

just seems like most of the time once the feds have thrown the book at you the state leaves you alone

      • The FAA hasn't had a permanent director since Michael Huerta's term ended in January 2018. Trump initially floated the idea of giving his personal jet pilot the position but when that met resistance he simply left the position open. Deputy Daniel Elwell has been "Acting Administrator" ever since. His old deputy position is also currently being filled by on an "Acting" basis

Trump has not officially nominated anyone for these roles.

I glanced through the indictment and a lot of it was mortgage fraud. There's little doubt the prosecution is partly political. If there are any more prosecutions coming, particularly people who work at the Trump Org, this is a warning shot to anyone thinking staying quiet/pardon is a better option than cooperating with the authorities.

Hopefully we will get another mob movie or series out of this. Those movies/series are usually decent.

            1. Godfather I and II.
            2. Casino
            3. Goodfellas
            4. Scarface
            5. The Departed
            6. Mean Streets

I am probably missing a few that are worthwhile, but still the above 7 movies total about 15 hours of decent entertainment. Throw in the Sopranos series and that is some quality viewing.

Heck, you could throw 'Pulp Fiction' and 'No Country For Old Men' into the mob movie category if you squint a little.

            • Katie Pavlich is on Fox all the time. She's of this era's great Conservative thinkers. She's definitely not on Fox because she's blonde, pretty, and willing to wear short skirts

He she is explaining that Trump's definitely very knowledgeable about how planes work because he's owned them.

Only other one off the top of my head is The Untouchables.

                  • Yeah, Trump used to support the "inside job- controlled explosion" theory of the WTC. There are people who think because he sold real estate that made him an expert on the matter. It's hilarious.

                    People are stupid.

Yeah, that's decent. And maybe Donnie Brasco and Carlito's Way. I thought of those. Just not a huge fan of those three.

Thinking about it though, Untouchables could be just a crime or cop movie. It's obviously not told from the mobster point of view like Godfather, Casino, Goodfellas, etc. The mob is in it, but the cops are the protagonists.

So it's ruled out of bounds, counselor!!!

                            Bugsy? Never saw it.

                            • Whoa, Ted Cruz, Ben Sasse, and Lindsey Graham showed up uninvited at the White House last night to beg Trump to accept some sort of compromise on his 'national emergency' that would help him save face when the vote happens today. Trump didn't like it, the WH lawyers didn't like it, and the Senators left with everyone in a worse mood.
