    • Both votes fail to reach 60, but the Democrat plan to reopen the govt for 3 weeks just got more votes than the Trump/Kushner plan did. Six Republicans votes for the Dem plan, including Romney, Johnny Isakson, and Lamar Alexander

      • Oh and I think McConnell absolutely held these votes back to back as a message to Trump.

          • I thought they had to do these so they could adjourn for the weekend. I'm sure maybe there is some of that, but I know there was something procedural.

            • Here's the vote tally on the two bills. R's still covering for Trump in sufficient numbers to prevent passage of the 3w funding bill. Marco Rubio just got an email from me. Johnny Isakson, my former Senator from GA, voted yes for both plans. Not sure what that kind of vote meas and all the Rs who voted yes on the Dem plan also voted yes on the Trump plan.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

                    • WH leaks preparations for a phony "national emergency" to build 's Vanity Wall. I think they're tossing that out to see what kind of Congressional response there will be. Figure the House will pass their half of a joint resolution repealing the declaration immediately. Then the real horse trading will start to flip 4 GOP senators and get Mr Turtle to bring the measure to the floor. Chump would certainly veto the measure but the all important optics would be horrid. Congress could also allocate money to tear down the wall forcing Dear Leader to take and shoot more hostages with a 2nd shutdown later on.
