how many mainstream news articles featured her this week?

        • Pentagon chief of staff resigns

          Pentagon chief of staff resigns

The Department of Defense's chief of staff Rear Adm. Kevin Sweeney has resigned, according to a statement.

Sweeney said in a brief statement that he planned to return to the private sector, giving no reason for his departure. His exit comes just days after Secretary of Defense James MattisPresident Trump regarding the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria, where coalition forces continue to battle elements of the Islamic State on the ground.

Trump's withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria was also credited at the time with pushing the resignation of Brett McGurk, the president's top envoy to anti-ISIS coalition forces in the region.

Mattis's former deputy, Patrick Shanahan, began serving as acting Defense secretary at the beginning of January.

Yeesh, had to look that up. Had no idea. Decades-old crime too, going back to period when he was a 'star'.

              • More and more Trump supporterss who own industrial businesses are feeling the pinch from tariffs and are getting restless. They expected casualties from the Trade Wars, just didn't expect it'd be themselves.

                ***************************

The steel tariffs were supposed to give American steel makers protection in the face of unfair competition from China. But Mr. Kooiker accuses American steel makers of profiteering at his expense, using the tariffs as an opportunity to raise prices by 25 percent.

According to Mr. Kooiker, the customer found a supplier in China that could produce the axles more cheaply. Agritek managed to avoid layoffs by transferring the two workers who made the axles to another job, but someone else might have been hired for that work. The American steel companies he buys from lost out. The only beneficiary is the Chinese company now supplying the entire product.

                  • They were listening to "alternative facts" reality, not actual facts reality. They're finding its a difficult transition to go from proudly wearing Trump kneepads to facing the real world. Perhaps they shouldn't have dropped to their knees in the first place.

Another part of what that article demonstrates is just how far the Republican base has moved past the Tea Party "small government' beliefs of 2010. The three Holland MI manufacturers were unanimous in wanting government intervention in the economy. Two were upset because they expected the government intervention to help them and instead they are being harmed; one (the furniture guy) was sticking by his principles and admitting that, yes, Trump's economic strategy was hurting his business but it was for a greater good.

"Everything you are doing is so meaningless we can pull you all out as quick as logistically possible. Fuck the SecDef. Fuck the allies you've been working with. Fuck your mission. You're going home!"

"On second though. Remain in place. Continue what you are doing."

There isn't enough time to explain how many levels fucked.

Considering Sgt. Rapture has an aneurysm each time AOC is pushed, I can't imagine what sort of seizure cycle he'd be in if he actually put his money where his mouth was, joined up, and had the rug pulled/placed under him with such impunity.
