Interesting demographic point about the new House...the last time Pelosi was Speaker, apparently about a 1/3 of all House Dems represented rural districts. Today that's less than 1/6. The Dem majority is also slightly larger than it was in 2007 when Pelosi first took office.

I'm of two minds. One the one hand, we don't need a special investigator every time we want to hold rich people or public servants accountable for their actions. On the other hand, that black/white approach does admittedly ignore current realities, including that accountability for the wealthy or powerful is a strange and rate thing. So maybe there needs to be an overwhelming avalanche of evidence instead of what's simply a sufficient amount, regardless of how long we're willing to allow Putin a seat at the table inside the White House.
That doesn't solve the problem of competent corruption. Clearly, staggeringly incompetent corruption Trump-style is something the justice system can potentially handle.
