Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

    • DSL, you are correct that there are things, Trump tweets in particular, that can roil markets.

The problem is that once a sell off starts because that 30% of market investors that are actually human beings sell, for example, on word trade tensions are rising with China, the machines take over and magnify it out of proportion to that which humans probably would sell based on actual economic realities. It works in reverse too.

My point was that this machine trading has become a huge part of the massive volatility - the 1000+ swings during a Dow trading day - that are literally sweeping billions of investor dollars off the table and then putting it back on in the next 24h. It can be distressing. It shouldn't be.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

The problem is Trump is truly the first president to start publicly cheerleading the stock market and taking credit, that is a dangerous game for any president. When you start talking about firing cabinet members and the Fed chair because of a sell off and you get the treasury secretary putting out unvetted stupid comments from a beach in Cabo it is enough. Get the adults in charge, imagine the fiasco if a Lehman Brothers crash happened with this crew.

                • I saw people upset that the market rebounded on Wednesday. They want our economy into recession to increase their chances in the next election.

                      • Want to take bets on whether the gun that killed officer #RonilSingh is illegally owned? What are the chances that an #IllegalAlien would go through proper channels to own a LEGAL firearm?
