    • snivels to Chris Wallace about General McRaven and then whines about Osama bin Laden.

As it becomes more apparent that MBS ordered the killing in the Saudi consulate, the POSOTUS will almost certainly say it's okay for foreign leaders to order extrajudicial killings. Obama!

Retired Adm. William McRaven on Sunday stood by his previous statement that President Donald Trump’s attacks on the news media represent “the greatest threat to democracy” after the President dismissed him as a “Hillary Clinton backer” in an interview that aired on Fox News.

      • The Bin Laden raid must really gnaw at Donald. Obama was giving his stone cold stand up at the WHCA dinner roasting Donald knowing he had just given the order for McRaven to raid the compound.

This post doesn't make sense unless you realize that Wiz doesn't know what Al Qaeda or how to spell queso.

                • Good example of how you can gerrymand a state's legislative districts to give rural areas a disproportionate share of the seats in the state legislature.

Republicans won only 46% of the total vote for the state assembly in Wisconsin, but won nearly 2/3 of the seats.

such a stupid talking point. both the senate and state assembly are going to be skewed like that. should Wyoming give a fuck how many people in California voted for their senator or state assembly? that answer is of course no.

i mean what a stupid arguement and of course made by a leftist. literally not a single position listed on the right side of that graphic is possible to gerrymander, they are all state wide popular vote lmao

                    • Man, if I'm the Ds I go full on city-vs-rural culture war. Go through every urban district and tell people that they're the REAL salt of America, working bullshit jobs unlike the lazy fucks busy staging tantrums demanding the past somehow be magically resurrected. That's what Trump and Rove and McConnell would do if they were on the other side. They'd also have an impeachment plan ready for January, unlike the effing bullshit Democrats, who lack the spine required to live up to the ideals on which the country was founded.

The Wisconsin state assembly is also about to attempt to do what they did in North Carolina when a Democrat was elected: suddenly pass new legislation reducing the powers of the Governor, which the out-going Republican Governor will happily sign into law.

Because rural Republicans have been given a disproportionate amount of power vs urban and suburban voters, they can do so.

                        • I would carry it one step further and go to those rural spots -- the places where 90% of presidential campaigning happens -- and tell those people that it's time to use their damn brains a bit, because their votes count for more under the current system and America needs them to hold Republicans accountable. Rs have always told them what they want to hear and meant none of it, and they've never been punished at the polls. Rural Americans should be told to feel shame and smarten up. and should be told to get off their lazy entitled asses and do for themselves the bootstrapping they always recommend for brown people.

                          • IMO The Economist's post-midterms leader basically nailed it. The system is broken, and fixing it won't come from the Rs, so it requires the Ds to work within a system structurally imbalanced in order to gain enough power to rebalance it. Catch-22 there, obviously. The piece became very stupid very fast once it suggested the remedy of working with Rs to get stuff done to boost D popularity. There are no good choices at this point, but people do honestly love a truth teller, and some tough love.
