  • A lot of people (on both sides) felt Blankenship was the worst candidate for the Republicans to beat Manchin. Jenkins was the best. Looks like both sides will get their second choice.

Putin's cock holster has given the press more than impetus, he has motivated them to look for rocks to lift. You and I are old enough remember the end of the Nixon administration, where calling the press/administration relationship 'adversarial' would be a bit of an understatement. A Nixon and Trump comparison has both similarities and differences. Tricky Dick was ruthlessly brilliant and 'very stable genius' is an average joe at best. The relationship between press and prez was icy, but Nixon recognized the power of the press and attempted to manipulate it, whereas Trump alternately ignores and antagonizes the press. Nixon's time was one of upheaval from the Viet Nam war, the social clash of Leave It To Beaver Land vs Wayne's World, and full tilt proxy aggression by the Soviet Union. We do not have the social churning today we had 50 years ago yet the polarization is just as great. Why is that? I look at social media and the internet as a large contributing factor. Back then we had Walter Cronkite, today we have Sean Hannity. Then we had small groups that would vent amongst themselves and today we have internet echo chambers with no physical boundaries. In days of old your words were put to your face and accountability was inherent, now internet as an anonymous forum breeds hate and baseless extremism. It appears that humankind has failed to harness the new technologies in a positive manner whereas it's abuse is now something that people take pride in. It is this freedom to abuse and spread hatred without consequence that has brought about the extreme polarization in all aspects of our lives.

As our maturity and compassion as a nation rapidly declines, we see an inverse increase of evil as exampled by the current occupant of the Oval Office and his base. Perhaps evil is too strong a word, but it will do this early in the morning.

Chump has lived in a tabloid world in NY and relished the free for all of battling "the press", if that's what you can call the tabloids. Now he picks fights and disparages one of the foundations of this republic and then whines about his treatment from the real press.

Donald Trump is slime ball and it's fitting he is being swarmed by roach hunters. He s not the cause of our national immaturity but simply an extreme example of it. And unrestrained and supported by a minority, he further degrades our country both domestically and internationally. Sadly, it is only the press that is standing up to our dictator-wannabe.

          • Cordray won more easily than I expected. But the total number of people who voted in the Dem primary vs the Republican one should be disconcerting to him. I expect that to narrow as most of the outstanding votes are probably in the urban counties but still...as of right now it's a difference of 150,000 votes
            Narrowed down to 148,000!

The only conundrum DeWine faces is will the Taylor voters come out for him in November if he, well, acts like his genuine self instead of publicly giving Trump blowjobs like they expect him to? IMO he can probably afford to tell the Taylor people to fuck off, because Kasich is still pretty popular, but who knows.
It'll be a milquetoast election. Neither DeWine nor Cordray are particularly colorful, they both seem fundamentally decent -- or at least no awful, and they both have their "things" to campaign on.

Most important Ohio Election result was Anthony Gonzalez winning the R primary (beating crazy woman Christina Hagan).

Also, Ohio passed a voter initiative Constitutional Amendment re redistricting. I voted against it, but that is the correct process. As opposed to some jackwagon in the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio deciding whether or not the districts look cool.

Talent thrilled that Iraq War 2.0 a real possibility now thanks to Republican governance!!
It is? Is this like one of those "the stock markets will crash into oblivion the day after election day" predictions, or is this one serious?

So the President's personal lawyer was collecting money from corporations to lobby on their behalf. That's all legit, right? Did the President know and was Cohen doing it on his own behalf or for Trump?

                                * Viktor Vekselberg: Russian Oligarch and currently on the sanctions list. Cohen received $500,000 from his US business in 1Q 2017.

                                * AT&T: Paid Cohen a total of $200,000. in Late 2017/early 2018. AT&T has already admitted that yes, they paid Cohen, but they merely wanted "insight into the administration"

                                * Novartis: Nearly $400,000 in payments in late 2017. The CEO of Novartis met with Trump in the WH in January 2018. Novartis says: "No comment"

                                * Korea Aerospace: $150,000

So was Cohen selling favors and influence or what? Sure looks like it. Forget the Russian and Stormy for a moment, I'm as interested in knowing what AT&T and Novartis thought they were purchasing and if this was a Cohen solo operation or...?

there was a report in the Hill yesterday about 5:00 PM about how Mueller has already interviewed the Russian oligarch about the payment to Cohen.

All of this was already know to Mueller, already looked into by Mueller.

I still expect you to parrot all the breaking drips from the media as they come in, but there is nothing new and nothing that Mueller hasn't already flushed out. hate to burst your bubble but there is still no Russian collusion. SAD!
