4 special elections tonight in the Missouri House of Representatives. All the districts were won by Trump with enormous margins (like 30-40 points).
At least one, District 97, was just won by a Democrat. Another, District 144, is extremely close with the Dem holding a tiny lead. Trump won that district by 47 points. The Republican margin in the other two seats fell
In the PA-18 Republicans have outspent the Dems 17-to-1 and are still nervous.
Hard to know what to read into this stuff. Are Dems just a lot more motivated to vote in special and off-year elections right now?

Carter Page was the FBI mole, a plant in order to get a Title I FISA warrant and the authority to spy on the campaign, including retroactive meta data, emails and text messages. Gowdy read over the FISA applications and all 4, the initial and renewals, all lead with the dossier and nowhere was there a mention of political ties, according to him.
Then you have Carter Page, walking around a free man today. Not suspected of a crime, not accused of a crime, no alledged criminal wrongdoing, after a Title I FISA warrant that are granted on those with credible evidence of engaging in treasonous government espionage or fucking terrorism. It's because Page was working for the FBI, and the survielence wasn't for him, it was for the organization he was affiliated with, the Trump campaign.

Jeff: Do you not even understand the irony of these sentences?
Well, I try to read journalists with a wide range of political views. You should try it. Some of my best friends read NRO.
Must be because you know it is untrue.

I don't think I do. He's a lightweight, I agree. Which is what most of us thought of him before Mulcair's campaign turtled, IIRC. It's easy and costs very little to right historical wrongs done to marginalized groups, and it plays to his strengths. It is much harder to address the serious economic problems, which Canada has to a lesser extent than the US, but still has. That said, IMO credit where it's due for his leadership on the pipelines. We need to get those pipelines built and find more markets for our petroleum, as unpleasant as that may be. That's an unpopular message that he delivers when needed and consistently, IMO.

The people who voted that way are still scared to revert back to a PC party that many still feel like is run by Harper descendants. And Mulcair never really felt like a viable option from the NDP. Realistically, the NDP rarely feels like a viable alternative for Canadians and I have my doubts that Canadians are ready for Jagmeet Singh, sadly mostly due to his turban, regardless of how charismatic and handsome he is. So Canadians are likely to stick with safe Trudeau, who's foreign reputation is likely better than his domestic.

On Election Day 2016, Page wrote, "OMG THIS IS F***ING TERRIFYING." Strzok replied, "Omg, I am so depressed."
Later that month, on November 13, 2016 Page wrote, "I bought all the president's men. Figure I need to brush up on watergate."**
The next day, Nov. 14, 2016, Page wrote, “God, being here makes me angry. Lots of high fallutin’ national security talk. Meanwhile we have OUR task ahead of us.”
