I hope you will try to read the Kim Strossel link I posted. Federal employees are paid 61% more than private sector employees with comparable jobs. There is no excuse for it. The trade-off used to be public sector jobs being paid less, but having more certainty.
Just pass a law saying that if the government shuts down, the employees do not get paid, and you would stop any "government shutdown" nonsense by either party. No one in DC wants to be responsible for employees facing hardship with their mortgage payments and such.Comment
