It's not nearly so significant and it'll be buried by tax bill passage, but the Senate just voted to reject Trump's nominee for the Export/Import Bank, Scott Garrett. Among other controversial things he says, he's previously been on the record as wanting the Bank eliminated entirely. US Chamber of Commerce came out strongly against his nomination.

Unfortunately, at least IMO, the writers don't particularly care to address the "Why" it happened or even speculate that it might be a result of democratic socialism.
