Anyway, I find it reprehensible that the US would dare conduct a targeted strike against chemical weapons abusers. Far better to issue an ultimatum with zero teeth.

Ironic that these are the same people Trump said would destroy our country if we took them in. But that was like, weeks ago.
Heh. Reminder that the first travel ban was issued Jan. 27 on the basis that there was an immediate threat from immigrants from those 7 countries. It's now almost April 7th and the travel ban is still held up in the courts. No flood of migrants has stormed the gates.
I'm not convinced this is any more than an emotional outburst but if there is a positive here, its that we've seen that there is some spark of humanity beneath Trump's massive ego. Where it takes us....who knows.
The CIA has believed since summer that Putin wanted Trump. Comey testified before the House Committee that Putin wanted Trump over Clinton.
We can debate the reasons why. But if you refuse to believe that Putin preferred Trump, you also believe the CIA and FBI and NSA are all full of shit and YOU personally know better.
No, I honestly didn't hear any testimony from Comey specifically saying that Putin preferred Trump. Or from anybody else in the intelligence community for that matter. Got a link?
Please answer my question: If the FBI, CIA, and NSA all believed Putin preferred Trump, and if Comey offered to write an op-ed to that effect, why didn't the Democrat campaign go public with that information before election day? Wouldn't that have been a public service?

Comey states here that Putin had a clear preference for Trump and was the consensus at the FBI in Septemeber. At the CIA earlier than that.
Note the Republican grilling him is now the head of the investigation with Nunes stepping down. He goes to great lengths to try and get Comey to deny that Putin preferred Trump but Comey states over and over again that logic dictates that if he badly wanted Clinton to lose then he clearly preferred Trump. Russia later decided that their efforts were going to fail and that simply undermining the future President Clinton was good enough.

As for the targeted bombing of Syria, an interesting array of opinions. Most allies are on-board. Russia, who was apparently told that this was going to happen, backs its Syrian puppet. Opinion pieces range from positive to wait-and-see to negative (good ol' David French at the hated NRO).
In any event, the Syrian use of chemical weapons calls into question the success of the "Obama Approach." He didn't take action in 2013 against the Syrians when they crossed his red line because he reached a last minute deal with Russia to more or less make sure Syria destroyed or otherwise removed their chemical weapons. It was a classic diplomatic play to reach the desired end result w/o force. It apparently held for awhile, but the idiot Syrians crossed the line again.
Since Obama gave Syria to the Russians, the US almost certainly needs Russian cooperation to put an end to use of chemical weapons. Repeated paddlings by the US probably won't get the job done. It strikes me more as a "keep your bitches in line" warning to the Russians.
In any event, since DJT is a Russian Puppet and Assad is a Russian Puppet, we can safely assume the entire week's events were orchestrate by Putin.

Say what you will about the man, but Trump is fucking brilliant at manipulation. Rice doesn't need to answer any questions. She didn't do anything wrong. We have Sessions lying under Oath, Nunes making a mockery of a Congressional investigation, Flynn hoping for immunity (probably because the trail goes no higher than him), Carter Page flying to the Seychelles, Kushner's meetings, and already proof of a quid pro quo in the Ukraine position changing in the GOP platform ahead of the convention.
And we're talking about Susan Rice doing the job she was hired to do. At this point, the real and true next question is why have we given up so many civil liberties in the name of national security if we aren't actually going to be serious about national security?
Fortunately, Ms. Rice only lied to NPR when she said she "knew nothing" of the allegations made by Mr. Nunes. Now, of course, she's falling back on the, "well, it was legal" argument. I am, of course, fine with that. For example, a Senator meeting with the Russian ambassador ain't illegal.
However, I do rather enjoy innuendo and speculation. It seems possible that Rice was unmasking Trump campaign folks with a direct political motive. She should answer questions!
