      • ESPN's way-too-early bowl forecasts. The only thing they get right is osu in the playoffs again. Michigan to the Emerald/Kraft Fight Hunger/Foster Farms Bowl.

ESPN's Mitch Sherman sees Michigan State in the Rose Bowl and Michigan in the Foster Farms Bowl in Jim Harbaugh's former home in San Francisco.

Ooooo, ESPN has us going 6-6...

        • Harbaugh has been there before.

NO NFL pundit pre-season, expected him to take the 49ers, who hadn't made the playoffs in 9 years to the NFC Title Game in his first season.

IMO don't really care what bowl provided an OSU upset in year 1.

            • Congratulations to the Michigan Women's Softball team, who swept their way to the B1G Tournament Title tonight by defeating Nebraska 6-1. Haylee Wagner allowed one run on three hits and struck out five to get the win in the championship game. Wagner did not allow a walk. Sierra Romero had the big hit in the game with a 3-run shot over the center field fence in the 4th inning.

The Wolverines on the weekend outscored their opponents 31-2. The tournament was played in Columbus ohio.

Michigan will now await the NCAA Tournament announcements. Michigan should host a first round series in Ann Arbor, and should they win that, they will likely host a super regional as well.

Congrats to the Lady Wolverines on a fine season. The Wolverines record stands at 51-6.

              • The Women's Softball team will host a first round NCAA Regional beginning Friday at Alumni Field. The Wolverines will open versus Oakland University.

In the other bracket, Cal-Berkley will play Pitt, with the winner advancing to play the winner between Michigan and Oakland.

Should Michigan win its regional, they will host a NCAA Super Regional against the winner of the Athens Georgia regional. The top seed in that bracket is the Georgia Bulldogs (40-11)

                • Sorry if some of this softball stuff is too boring, but its the off season in the major sports, and I think a Big Ten Champion from Michigan deserves a bit of forum space.

                    • Michigan's Softball team continued to impress this weekend in the NCAA Regional Tournament being hosted by Michigan.

Michigan has advanced to the Championship round by defeating Oakland and Cal-Berkley by identical run-rule scores of 9-1.

Michigan is now the only undefeated team remaining, and will wait for the winner of the elimination round, and return to the diamond on Sunday.

Should Michigan finish as Regional Champions, they will host the winner of the Athens GA regional, at the Wilpon Complex in Ann Arbor next weekend, in a 2 out of 3 Super Regional.

                      • Michigan's Softball team finished as NCAA Regional Champions today defeating Pitt by a score of 10-3.

Michigan started strong with a five-run first inning and relied on tough pitching from Megan Betsa in relief to beat the Panthers and complete the three-game tournament sweep. The Wolverines will host the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional next weekend against Georgia. The Bulldogs defeated Western Kentucky, 17-0, to advance as one of the 16 Super Regional teams.

Should Michigan get past Georgia next week, they would advance to the College World Series in Oklahoma City, OK. Michigan is currently ranked as the #5 team in the country.

                          • They are a pretty solid team.

They have a batting order where I believe the first seven hitters have all hit double digit home runs.

They are a well rounded team as well. Excellent pitching, and their defensive numbers are among the best in the nation.

If they can get to Okie City for the CWS, they're going to be a tough out.

                            • Michigan's Softball team got a good start in the first game of the NCAA Super Regional being hosted by the Wolverines in Ann Arbor versus the University of Georgia.

The Wolverines defeated Georgia on Thursday evening by a score of 10-3. Megan Betsa once again pitched the Wolverines to victory recording 10 strikeouts in the process. Ironically, Betsa is from Georgia, but managed to hold the visiting Bulldogs from her home state in check, while the Wolverines pounded out 10 runs on eight hits. The Bulldogs made 3 errors which led to 4 of Michigan's runs.

Sierra Romero and Kelly Christner led the way at the plate for the Wolverines. Romero, the nation's leading home run hitter, went 2 for 3, scoring 2 runs with 1 RBI. Christner 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs.

The Wolverines will play the Bulldogs again on Friday evening at 6 pm. Should Michigan win that, they would advance to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. The "if necessary" game would be played immediately following the 6:00 pm game should Georgia force a deciding third game.
