I'm going by what McCain said. His walk back was weak. This campaign showed there is no political cost to keeping the Supreme Court at 8. In fact there is a bugger cost for the GOP reps to allow Clinton or Obama to get a nominee. Why would they do it?

... Blocking US foreign-policy goals when/where possible has clearly been a part of Putin's strategy to ensure that Russia is perceived as a global power...
I did google "NATO+Trump". But, I had listened to Trump's AIPAC speech in real time and what he said was that the countries of Europe should pay their already agreed upon contributions to NATO and that the US should reconsider its commitment to go to war over the Baltics. Hillary would no more launch nukes than Trump would. If you think she would or should, say so.

Froot:
Our positions are clear. The event will or won't happen. It's a binary result. One of us will be right and one of us will be wrong. I don't really care much about how you justify position, only what your position is. We'll see who is correct in due course.
They can sell off pieces of it...Hillary has already laid the groundwork for this in fact, for those paying attention.
Some Ds will be more dug-in on it than others of course, but in the end its going to be altered. Might as well benefit from it.
It's an interesting idea -- but, man, I really can't see the Ds signing up for that.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?

LMAO at anyone who thinks that the Republican party will show a fucking ounce of balls after this election is over. Don't worry, Froot -- Hillary can appoint Bill Ayers to the Supreme Court and John McCain will go on TV to bash the Tea Partiers who don't like it. John McCain has bashed the Republican base nonstop for sixteen years and he has bashed Donald Trump harder than he ever bashed a Democrat opponent.

Whether she has the clout inside the party to pull it off...I agree that's an issue. The argument, behind closed doors, that trading parts of an unpopular bill for long-term SC appointments will resonate with moderate Ds.

1. Trump is a maniac because he is going to start World War III
2. Trump is Putin's puppet because he is not going to start World War III
Choose one.Last edited by Hannibal; October 18, 2016, 11:11 AM.
