Trump has spent 4 days keeping the Miss Universe story alive while his campaign desperately fights to make it go away. I can't overstate how nuts it is that this Miss Universe stuff is so under his skin he would be up in the middle of the night ranting about it online.
This week could end up being as bad for him as those 2-3 weeks right after the conventions.

On Cuba and only watching from afar ......
While it is easy to get enamored with the Castro regime and it's demonstrable social equity, the reality is that the Castros have done far more damage to Cuba than good in economic terms. IOW, the cost to the world's lenders of supporting a state controlled and run economy has been astronomical.
This isn't some well run social experiment in Cuba that, demonstrating the fundamental excellence of Communism, has delivered any real benefits to the Cuban people. What Cuba and the Castros have demonstrated to the world is a skillful shakedown of lenders willing to grab some form of political capital by supporting these scoundrels.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Have you visited Cuba? Have you spoken to Cubans (not the right wing reactionaries that have flocked to South Florida) Have you studied Cuba's economy? Several years ago NBC did a special in which it covered a person who ha broken a leg in Cuba, in Canada and the US. It found that overwhelmingly the Cuban received the best medical care, the Canadian the second best and by far the worst care was given to the American. Free health care, free education, free housing. All supplied by a government that the US has attempted to choke since 1960 and who lost its number one trade partner when the Soviet Union collapsed. Compare that to the wealth disparity in the US and the cost of health care, housing and education. Red baiting be damned!

Stan, I don't discount anything you say about the Castro regime. No, I've never visited Cuba and admitted that in my post.
The point is that the cost of achieving those commendable social achievements in Cuba was and continues to be high and nearly all of the cost of these achievements and their ongoing support was and is currently being born by countries outside of Cuba. The centrally controlled Cuban economy generated only a small portion of the income required to those costs.
I'm not criticizing the Cuban people who I am sure are wonderful. What I am criticizing is the lauding of Cuba and by extension the Castros for the social equity present in that country ...... the world's lenders bought that equity for the Cuban people.
Of course, there is a huge wealth gap in this country. It's obscene but if you are implying with this praise of the Cuban government that lessons should be learned from them about achieving social equity, that is dumb.Last edited by Jeff Buchanan; October 1, 2016, 11:27 AM.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished.
