If you look at RCP's approval chart for Trump there was a big jump in disapproval mid-February. I "think" that's when the latest tariff wars started and when the market turned negative and has mostly stayed there for 5 straight weeks.Comment

One of Trump's faults is the inability to admit when he is wrong. I do think technically and long term wise what he is doing with tariffs is correct...however perception beats reality sometimes PLUS he is pitting the world against the USA in this and I'm not sure it is a winning strategy...certainly not in the short term. What is his actual strategy? Are the tariffs just a threat to get other countries to do things for us that are unrelated to trade? Are they a good thing in their own right? The only countries that boast that they are entirely self-sufficient and only consume what they produce tend to be Marxist hellholes like North Korea and the old USSR.
The countries with the highest tariffs aren't paradises. In fact they are overwhelmingly third-world.
