If the Supreme Court allows Trump to get away with this and overturn a 1935 precedent, it would have major implications for the Federal Reserve as well. Wall Street might not be happy about that.
I think you would be interested in the history of these "independent agencies" that were created during the FDR administration. The SC found them legal, not because of any constitutional grounds for their existence, but because the SC wanted to find some way to thwart FDR. These types of activist rulings by a conservative court eventually led FDR to try to pack the Court. However "a switch in time saved nine..." when the public rebelled.
The US needs a constitutional amendment setting the number of SC judges at nine.
For the past 4 years conservatives said it was dumb of companies like Budweiser and Disney to alienate half their customers. I would venture to say that 80-90% of Tesla's business historically came from rich liberals and then Elon went full Johnny MAGA. And suddenly the same crowd that loved boycotts in 2022 now says it's a terrible thing to punish a company for getting involved in politics.
Boycotts really only work if you have a shitty product or a easily replaceable (homogenous) product. Bud Light was easy to replace with another shitty tasting light beer. Chik- Fil- A was boycotted by loons before without much success...because apparently people really love their food. Personally I think boycotts are silly but some feel the need to make a statement. Personal destruction of property is not a boycott and is done by radical loons. If Elon invented a cancer curing machine some loons would still light them on fire.
People who want to buy EVs are overwhelmingly liberals and/or people who live in and around big cities and don't have to drive long distances. They might not have had many EV options back in 2018 but that's not the case anymore. Elon can try to replace the lost business with sympathetic MAGA types but good luck to that. I don't see many of them trading in the Ford 150 for the dorky-ass Cybertruck.

None of this is the point of my comment. If people don’t want to buy a Tesla, don’t fucking buy one. But attacking the people who drive them, vandalizing their cars, setting them on fire at dealerships is fucking lunacy.
Now the left is engaging in dozens of swatting incidents against conservative influencers and media types. Someone is gonna get killed because of that bullshit. That’s part and parcel for the Left. Don’t like the way things are going? Resort to violence.

Look I'm not going to preface my comments on Tesla or Elon every single time with "I deplore the violence and vandalism at Tesla dealerships". I've said it multiple times now and it's a fucking obvious point.
There are plenty of people on The Right now making arguments like "It's un-American to attack a company for political speech". The intellectually dishonest cons making such appeals can fuck off. Every single one of them cheered on the Bud Light boycott. And Elon is WAY deeper into politics than what Budweiser did.
