Peace talks on Russia/Ukraine conflict: Early reports of the phone call that took place today between Trump and Putin so far has produced nothing surprising from my perspective. This is a developing story but we know this;



Putin reportedly was willing to discuss a cessation of strikes against Ukrainian electrical supply infrastructure but would discuss nothing about ending confrontations on the ground. Ukraine has not yet responded. This is more of just stringing the overly optimistic Trump campaign (and the breathless media peaceniks) to deliver on his promise to end the war. That was a naive, uninformed promise. Trump thinks he can play chess with Putin, He can't as he's not intellectually capable of doing that. He's getting played.

Obviously Trump is a Putin stooge...and he is Hitler...at the same time...

Meanwhile, The Israelis have resumed bombing Hamas targets in Gaza. The ceasefire is over becasue Hamas wrongly thought they could continue to use hostages as bargaining chips. The wailing has already begun from the press sympathetic to the terrorists.

Look, no freedom loving democratic country is going to put up with a country on their borders (Gaza and the West Bank) sworn to their destruction. What's going on there is the beginning of the complete elimination of Hamas as a political and military force along with the killing of civilians who gather in the streets, waiving the flag of Hamas indicating their support for their terrorism directed against the state of Israel. There's precedence for Israel attacking both the leadership of Hamas, infrastructure that supports their military capabilities and, unfortunately, palestinian citizens who support them and their declaration of, "death to the US, death to Israel."

The allies ruthlessly fire bombed civilian targets inside Germany with the purpose of killing germans who either supported or were indifferent to Adolph Hitler while weakening and ultimately destroying their capacity to support the Third Reich. Machiavellian, but a hard nosed look at what Israel is doing in Gaza is to reach the end game of completely destroying Gaza's governing authority and the base of civilians that openly support them. Time for innocents to leave, for supporters to flee and the unjustified hope of a two state solution destroyed. To that end, the ends justifies the means.

I don't know if this couds or clarifies the hard results obtained during the phone conversation between Putin and Trump. We know that deep strikes with long range missiles and drones in both countries will be suspended. Note, it's reported that within minutes of the end of the Trump/Putin phone call, Kiev came under air attack from missiles and drones. I don't get from this rather disjointed AP piece below whether ground fighting will go on hold - I tend to think it's not part of whatever agreements were made today. In any peace negotiations process Putin continues to demand Ukraine not pursue NATO memberships. I think in the end, whatever the Europeans come up with as a peace keeping force - something they have been collectively discussing - Putin will oppose deployment of any European troops on the ground in Ukraine. That amounts to no security at all for Ukraine and simply paves the way for Putin to mount another strike directly at Kiev. This time, after an appropriate interval of no deep strikes inside Russia targeting it's defense production capacity, Putin will order another blitzkrieg type assault form the Kursk region intended to seize the capital.

I'm still laughing at prog Tesla owners who are getting rid of their cars. Elon Musk and his company already has your money. You can't get it back from him.

And, aren't electric cars supposed to be the wave of the future?

Tesla's are the best electric car available. GM and Ford are severely lacking in quality and dependability.

And yes, its domestic terrorism when the lunatic left hurl molotov cocktails at Tesla dealerships.

The people who actually buy EVs (not you) have been switching away from Tesla for a while. They are rapidly losing market share and Elon chose to align with Trump to try and halt that. But I don't see rural bumpkins saving his ass. EVERYTHING'S COMPUTER!

It's amazing listening to Trump talk about Russia and Canada in that interview with Laura Ingraham. Speculate all you want as to the reasons, but Putin is legitimately the only world leader Trump will NEVER criticize or talk bad about in any way. He called the Canadians cheaters and nasty people. But the Russian are trustworthy and he wants to do all sorts of trade deals with them.

This administration wants to normalize relations with Russia at pretty much any cost. Russia bombed Kyiv within 30 minutes of Trump declaring they had a ceasefire agreement. Nothing but praise for them nonetheless.
